• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Huge clutch problem - wr 360 - please help!

Hello all

I have a 95 wr 360 and i cannot make the clutch work...

Its a new clutch installed by the previous owner who never ride it after the clutch change. When I got the bike the clutch lever was very hard to pull and when pulled the clutch was not 100% engaged so the bike had a small tendency to go forward or the engine stopped. I took down the clutch cover plate and with oil drained I played several times with the center adjustment screw till the clutch had a much more working area - I mean more space between the clutch disks. without oil it worked ok but the clutch lever was still hard to pull. When I put the oil back in its even worse - the clutch its not workin anymore...

please help me with a tutorial on how to make the clutch work since i don't understand and i dissasembled the bike twice today why with more space between the clutch disks its even worse...

i also mention that the oil its black and maybe not meeting the specs - i read that best is something like 10w40..

After many hours with google I found that the space between clutch plates should be around 2mm and at handlebar around 3mm. Oil specs 10W40 transmission oil like Castrol MTX.

Can somebody confirm this?

I can't verify that 2mm is the desired gap, but if you have that much the clutch should release.
If or when you take it apart again you might check the fingers on the basket for notching where they contact (drive) the friction discs. Notching can cause the discs to hang up (drag) and not float when the clutch is supposed to be disengaged. Check the splines that the steel discs contact on the center hub too. Even with the correct gap the clutch can and will drag if you have much notching.
Did you check your clutch cable to see if it is the cause of the hard lever?

I changed oil fix the gap to aprox. 2-3 mm and no results...still not working :(

Today I want to dissasemble the disks and check if they touch the basket

you could also check the operating arm that the clutch cable connect to you will have to take out the push rod then you can pull the arm from the case it might be worn where it pushes on the rod if it is even slightly worn it will not push the rod enought to cleat the plates also the clutch will have a heavy feel just like a un oiled cable when you have a good cable and the arm is good the clutch will be very light :-)))))))
