• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hummm... A Devil bike or dated WR 250 or WTH a Beta smoker????

The new Beta really has me interested. I'm riding an 08 WR250 and have been patiently waiting for Husky to bring out a new 2 stroke. If they don't do it this winter I'll be on a Beta, Yamaha, or TM 2 stroke come spring. I'll quit riding before I buy a KTM or Gas Gas. Brad.

I like the KTM quote, but what did the devil bike do to ya????? The Beta does look sweet. Not sure about parts issues. Thinking about buying one just because. I do truely want to ride a Husky 250, but my god the old one had a 6-speed and a large tank. Which direction are they going? I'm beginning to wonder if BMW really cares about 2-strokes. We will see if the direct injection is just a joke or really does evole and ome out. I hope so. TM looks very interesting to.

I can't wait to check one out in person and maybe get a ride. I'm done with the KTM hate thing, I like riding too much to quit.

I wish we had a reliable importer in Canada I would be on the list for this Beta right now.

It's not so much that I hate KTM or Gas Gas, I just think my outdated WR250 is a better bike, and so do quite a few people that get to spend some time on my bike. I've ridden quite a few KTM and Gas Gas 300s and 250s over the years and they've never impressed me, plus they cost so much more than a Husky. Brad.

Ride what you like... I never got along with the ergos of the '06-'08 WR125 or the '06-'13 WR250. I just rode an '02 Husky CR250 and it fits me better than the newer ones. Also the '09-'13 WR125 fits me better. If you get along with the WR250/300, it's the 2 stroke bargain of the day!

Right on the money Norman. Throw a six speed in the 250 fit it to the new frame and bingo my next bike. Don't ever see it happening.

I'll keep the pumkin hate thing going. My choice my reasons. But wow the Beta looks sweet and besides the tranny exploding on my pink 96 or 97 gas gas, and wait I do have a scar on my left pinky thanks to a 01 Gas gas Hummmmm mabe Devil bike is and appropriate...........

Really how stupid is Husky. Plain and simple. The 5 speed sucks when compared to the 6-speed in the meantime they could have installed the old heavy engine in the new frame since 09 and just threw in the 6-speed and a bigger tank. I'm sure alot of riders have jumped ship while getting sick of waiting for a new bike. Husky wake up and give us some real updates besides bold new graphics on your 250-300!!! Someone buy those Devil bikes from Hall's this weekend so I have no choice but to stick with Husky!

Anyone have a blown up '09+ 125? I'm going to stuff my '00 WR250 engine (with the true Wide Ratio 5 speed) into it. It will take a lot of fab work, but I have to try to build the bike Husky won't.

not a 2T but...

did you guys hear that GasGas Offroad US will be importing the Sherco 250i and 300i for 2013? was reading about it in the new Dirt Rider last night

another mention here: http://www.enduro360.com/2012/10/11/featured/sherco-enduro-coming-to-usa/

Sherco's not well rated in Aussie shootout reviews.
They are very under done in the motor department apparently.

Fantic's are coming next spring to the USA. Hope that Tasky's has them, very Euro. My next buy if true. Not a Gas Gas at all, frame and handling way different. See Ya Husky.......:D
