As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
I like the KTM quote, but what did the devil bike do to ya????? The Beta does look sweet. Not sure about parts issues. Thinking about buying one just because. I do truely want to ride a Husky 250, but my god the old one had a 6-speed and a large tank. Which direction are they going? I'm beginning to wonder if BMW really cares about 2-strokes. We will see if the direct injection is just a joke or really does evole and ome out. I hope so. TM looks very interesting to.The new Beta really has me interested. I'm riding an 08 WR250 and have been patiently waiting for Husky to bring out a new 2 stroke. If they don't do it this winter I'll be on a Beta, Yamaha, or TM 2 stroke come spring. I'll quit riding before I buy a KTM or Gas Gas. Brad.
I can't wait to check one out in person and maybe get a ride. I'm done with the KTM hate thing, I like riding too much to quit.
Ride what you like... I never got along with the ergos of the '06-'08 WR125 or the '06-'13 WR250. I just rode an '02 Husky CR250 and it fits me better than the newer ones. Also the '09-'13 WR125 fits me better. If you get along with the WR250/300, it's the 2 stroke bargain of the day!
Looks like that one is still born or delayed for awhile. OSSA is building a more conventional Gas Gas powered enduro bike first. If you're waiting until 2013 here is another one for the mix.View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMkF6Kd0h_M
Right on the money Norman. Throw a six speed in the 250 fit it to the new frame and bingo my next bike. Don't ever see it happening.
It's a fancy GasGas.![]()
Here's one that I wouldn't Mind seeing in America.
