• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hummm... A Devil bike or dated WR 250 or WTH a Beta smoker????

Did I just buy a plain devil bike????

I vote that you get the Beta so you can tell me if its better than the Gasser. :)

No, i have not; but i have reference to those that have. Either way it is important that Fantic has been around longer than the Gas Gas. Both very good i'm sure and i'm willing to pay to find out. I do remember the 80cc Fantics in the ISDE doing very well.

TM, Sherco, Fantic, Beta... all cool bikes but what happens when you need a part? Even plastic. Not going to be fun. My WB165 is well supported, fantastic do it all woods bike. That and my TE511 and I feel I have all bases covered. Go husky or go home :D Every time I ride that thing I realize i have no need for any of these fancy new 2 strokes.

One other thing.....
A big concern for customers is going to be parts availability. We plan to stock about $10 to $15,000 in parts for the 250i and 300i Racing. Your local dealer can stock the normal breakable stuff like levers but we will stock the main items. If you need a part the dealer does not have, then you order from us and we pay your dealer a commission for the sale. We cut out the shipping time from us to the dealer then to you but we do not cut out the dealer in profit. We also cut out sales tax for 49 states. It is impossible for a dealer to stock a high volume of parts for a low volume sales brand. These parts will be stocked here in Tennessee. I also plan to keep a complete bike here in case someone breaks something we did not plan on.
What do you guys think of this plan?
This a quote from Clay

I wouldn't have my main ride be a bike that I couldn't get a part for that day, or the following day. I know even with Husky, this isn't always the case, but I'm lucky enough to have Bill's 50 min away, and if I call early in the day, the part will be on my doorstep the following day. I couldn't imagine waiting a week for a part, watching my buddies go riding, while I'm stuck at home... No way, No how!

Parts question on the Beta?
If you need a part it is only a couple days before you get it. I know first hand by breaking my bike in the first month of owning it. Part was there, "BANG" in a day. One thing for sure is Beta is looking good, riding great, and an up and coming star! I would love to check out this 2T 300 they have. Cheaper than the KTM also, plus-plus..

ALWAYS own more than one bike and this will NEVER happen.

Wow these bikes are cool....... Oh shi- I just bought a Devil bike!! Picked up a 2011 Gas Gas 250 6-days that is super low hours sporting original tires!! Gotta make the trek 700 miles to pick up in a few weeks or so......... this will be my practice bike. At this point if everything works out money wise, I'm grabbing a 2013 WR 250 or I'm really leaning towards the Devil bike:cry: I'm sad but Iv'e about had it with the 250 Husky not getting real updates. I am in hope the Gas Gas engine will prove as reliable as a Husky but I have my doubts about that. The bike you are contemplating to build, I thought about it very seriously and had my fab guy look at my (sold it) super low hour 2000-01 250 husky and my 09 125-150 He said he could do it. I don't know WTF us consumers should have to resort this to get a bike that works good #&@&#^^%# May be all GAS GAS for 2013. Any one need some bad a-- progrip Husky pants and jersey???? I guess I'll keep the socks and secretly where them while riding the Gasser..........................

Your darn right and if you can have 2 the same, bring em both to the race and if you break a rear brake pedal or something stupid you can snag it from your other bike!!! Also owning two bikes allows you to ride your practice bike on saturday and race your race bike on sunday:cheers:

I do own two bikes... But sadly, after riding my WR165, the other just sits, with a paddle mounted up, completely neglected. I don't know how I put 200hrs on that pig in the gnarly tight stuff... I must of been a real man back then...

Updated or not, you can't beat a well set up WR250.
I do respet the WR 250 and have won MANY trophies on this scoot. But I would think a well set up Devil bike should be just as good!!

I know how that works. After riding a 125 then jumping to a 144 the 125 was boring. The 165 probably would make the 144 sit! But yes I will assume you are referring to the pig being that 450!!! I will agree how the hec did you put 200 HRS on that pig in the tight stuff!!!

I know and agree the 124/144/165 is and AWESOME bike. Just tired of the small bore thing and witching to a 250 this year. And the devil bike will probably be my choice. I'm very skeptical about the Gas Gas being as reliable as the Husky. VERY concerned. But the 250 wr plain and simple needs a bigger tank 6-speed and lower seat height. One thing is for certain. The devil bike is certainly eye candy. We will see. Wife can not believe I bought a Gas GAs and sold my 150 this morning:cry:

I rode my WR165 (except an occasional putt around the yard) for the first time in 5 months. What an awesome bike it is! I was right at home and love flicking it around. I had not ridden it on purpose, as I was trying to get used to the Husaberg TE250. They both need a slightly different riding style and I've now figured that out.
Huskys are great and all other bikes including KTM's are good too! I get to ride the '12 Gas Gas 200 re-jetted and re-geared next weekend on my practice loop.... more Devil Bikes! Ride what you like!:oldman:
