• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husky 1983/84

Husqvarna
Guys hi , I have just bought a 1983/84 Husky in parts . The bike was under restoration but due to unforseen circumstances the owner passed on and I am now the owner of the bike .
I reside in South Africa on the East cost and used to race cr 360 and 390 models .

It is very difficult to get parts for Huskey in South africa and desperately need help to complete this bike properly .
Need

Carb
exhaust
plastics
chain tensioners and guide
right hand side sprocket engine cover as well as clutch cover .

Mike hi thanks for connecting .
The engine has no number or the frame .
I am having to have the piston measured . What are piston sizes that could help me indentify capacity . Its looks like a big bore .

Send pics, there's a lot of people here who know well huskys ! :)

If it is air cooled, then count the number of cooling fins on the cylinder, 6-250, 9-430, 10-500. If liquid cooled, you should see a stamp on top of the head as I recall indicating engine size.

We love pictures, so post up.

All of the parts you will need are in stock. Regardless of it being 250, 430 or 500cc!

We have all the pistons in all the oversizes. Go to www.hva-factory.com and download a free parts manual to help you.
These are the bikes we regularly race, so dont be afraid to ask for help.

Kind regards,

Andy Elliott (hva-factory owner)
