• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husky wins in Luceren Calif Desert Race

ajaxauto

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Well it was not over all but it was win First place over 50 Expert
on a Husky WR 250 .After what happened in Luceren last weeken
this race was going to be watched by the BLM and some TV crews
were also on hand to see what desert racing is all about. All went
well and we Dist 37 received some good reports from both the BLM
and TV crews

As for my 250 i just got it back from Zip Ty Racing Ty worked with
Peadro in Italy at the Zoke factory to get the suspention dialed in .
Well first time out in the desert with it and i get a win .I have not won in a while on the 125 and now with the 250 all dialed in i though lets try something different So for now a 150 is on hold because this 250 is just so fast and now handles well also.Stock gearing pulls the sand washes with no problem and top speed is fast enought .

Wow!!! The WR 250! My favorite bike right beside the CR250 and TXC250 and TC 250 .... Great job and you gotta post some pics of this over the top victory by a great rider and his WR250 Husky !!!

First time in the desert? I guess you liked it there :)

We need riders****************************************

I have been racing in the desert for about 35 years .As for the 250 i have been trying it off and on for a year now .I did a WORC race a gran prix, took it to Idaho and did a National plus the National in El Centro where it was a mud bath .I also did many miles out in the desert just riding but i could not make the bike work like my CR 125
UNTIL i took it to Zip Ty and said do the best you can ,you go ride it and afterwords if it does not work it is me not the bike .Well i think it works so well now that my trusty National # 1 plate holder 125 might get retired Only time and a few more races will tell the over all power of the 250 is something a 125 or 150 just does not have
BUT the 250 does weigh a little more and takes a little more effor to ride

Nice!
Many congrats :applause:

Mind sharing a little more info about what ZT did to your WR? Anything besides suspension?

I'm going to make a large effort to get my WR dialed in and am curious as to what others have done on similar bikes.

They just posted the results Not only did i win i was the first Husky to cross the finish line

Come on guys you all have Huskys so why am i one of only a few guys who race a Husky in the desert . There are 2 more Nationals left in the season first weeken in Oct and the last weeken in Oct Hope to see more Husky

John I am still on my slow boat of TXC450 rebuild. My body is is fully recovered from the surgery, but all I have to ride at the moment is my TE610 (which is as good a bike as I had remembered) and my kids RM125. SanDHusky and I were thinking to do a couple of D37 enduros prior to the Tecate enduro for warm ups. But I told him your clubs H&H is as gnarley as it gets for rocks, climbs and descents. So we shall see, time, machine prep, physical and budget are all thrown in there. Remember props, I got my 2009 7th place AMA Nat Sen B H&H certificate. So I am always (well almost always)down for the XC challenge.
