• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna Back Pack

So I walk into our local Husqvarna Power Equipment dealer looking for a throttle cable for my chain saw and saw this cool back pack hanging on the wall.
It's not too large nor too small and is made of ballistic material. One large main compartment with a pouch for a hydration bladder to fit inside and small hole at top for hydration tube to exit. Also has two smaller side pockets and mesh netting in rear. Enough space to carry tools or stowing your heavy enduro jacket with plenty of room to spare.

Hidden feature is the orange rain cover that fits in it's own pouch at bottom of pack and snaps into place with snap buttons. Also comes with padded back, padded shoulder straps, a waist belt and sternum buckle.

The word HUSQVARNA is embroidered on the rear right with bright white.

Not as well made as a Ogio pack but also only 1/3 the price at $29.99 from my local dealer.

Neat-o! Good find

I also have a Husky chainsaw. Where do you get your chainsaw stuff in the Bay Area?

And just in time for Christmas too :applause:
Good find Hwy

While I was there I had time to peruse all of the professional forestry and lawn care catalogs. Inside you'll find some nice hats, beenies, gloves, jackets, ponchos, shirts, polo's. sweatshirts and a plethora of Husqvarna goodies.
I'm asking the better half for Husqvarna mechanics gloves for x-mas.

Too funny. The Ontario Sales Rep for Husq Lawn and Garden was in my place last week and bought a bunch of Husky T-Shirts and Hats to give to his dealers.

Save me a hat Scott (If you have enough):D

ECU is on its way....

My area isn't upscale enough to warrant the shop owners to carry these cute items. I did find a lawn mower repair place that was good enough to find the backpack in their dealer catalog and they ordered it for me.

I went to the Husqvarna website and saw sweatshirts, beanies, a bag for rubber boots, even a can cozy, but no backpack. They even had a link to Cintas (big supplier of uniforms) that had Husky-logo'd clothing.

:confused:Uh oh, maybe it has been discontinued and North County Lawn Mowers won't actually be able to get the backpack for me.:censored:

Or maybe North County Lawn Mowers is better at finding stuff than I am :excuseme: They would certainly know better than I would, I'd think. Have faith!

Yippie! I went to pick mine up at the lawn mower shop today. (That was quick) It's very nice. The only thing that I wish was better is the waist belt. It's just nylon webbing. I wish it were padded a bit. But still, overall, it's a nice pack for the money (and it cost 32.95 from the lawn mower place).
