• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

HUSQVARNA BAGS ARE HERE !!! FOR TR MODELS

I got mine a while ago. Cases are extreemely good . I really like the quality. The racks however are a different matter. Very poor alignment and big forces on the bolts as they don't line up ( align actually) and ut twisting loads on then. I had to drill out the holes to get them to allow the bolt through , even then the threads didn't align. I replaced the supplied bolts with HT Allen bolts I had but even these had the threads garf up a bit trying to screw them in. I should have made my own frames if I had known about the poor alignment.

I had absolutely no problems with the installation of my racks. I know that there are several rack manufacturers that make GIVI compatible racks. Possibly yours were from a different supplier. The ones that came boxed up with the Trekker 33l cases fit great.

I am not familiar with racks and bags and was wondering if anyone has ideas on how easy it would be to adapt soft bags that I've been seeing (wolfman expedition?, yellow buggers) to these factory racks?

I don't think the factory racks are for sale without the hard cases.

Right. I'm thinking I want the factory rack and hard cases for normal daily activity, but then I'm wondering if it's easy to use soft bags on those racks if I take an adventure trip.

From the looks of the factory racks, they're just a loop which means any soft bag which hangs over the seat should work. If I'm correct wolfman panniers strap directly to the rack. I can't answer for those, but I'm sure there's a way of making them fit :)

Wolfmans are not thrown over the seat - they are fastened by straps to small loops welded on actual pannier frames (4 per side).

You can use plain frames (large loops) to fit Wolfman packs, with the help of those (~$30):

Just a heads up, I called Bill's yesterday asking if they had gotten in anymore of the factory racks and cases. The parts guy I spoke with said they should be getting 10 more sets in about a week and half. He also said you would have to act quick at 2 sets are already sold and they keep getting inquires daily.

I ended up getting the BRmoto racks with Ortlieb panniers but plan to do some experimenting with ammo cans in the near future.

FYI........I just happened to be in Bills yesterday when FedEx delivered the 10 sets of Husky luggage and racks. I believe 3 are already sold.

Do you fine people realize that if you bought these from Bill's, then could (somehow) resell the bags before using them to someone else for the retail amount Givi wants - you could get a set of side racks for $7?
