• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

    TE = 2st Enduro & TC = 2st Cross

TE/TC I got mine, TE300 finally.

gear is all ready torn and tattered from yesterdays ride and i did tweak the pipe all ready, but its a no worries tweak. the MX51s worked good in the rocks and trail trash they threw at us yesterday, I ran 13f and 12 rear to be safe.

How does the weight compare to the Beta ? I rode a 14 Beta 300 last weekend and was surprised at how heavy it felt compared to my TXC 310. Still a really nice bike. I don't have the skill to deal with 300 twostroke power. It was the smoothest 300 and easiest to ride 300 I have been on.

IDK I have not weighed the thing yet I will once I get all the bling installed and weigh her race ready with fuel.

The beta lists 223 dry and the KTM 231 wet but no fuel so in reality they are probably within a few pounds of each other. Your TE310 lists as 247 wet / 240 dry. A TC449 is 238 dry. All from on line sources so probably close but not exact

The shop 300xc-w feels almost the same weight as my buddies 2014 TXC 310. This is just a feeling when lifting the two bikes onto a stand side by side.

Depending on what they have on them they should be within a few pounds of each other. The TXC weighs less than the TE obviously.

For what it's worth, my WR300 claims to be 227 lb "kurb weight without fuel" in the owner's manual, which presumably includes all the other fluids. With the 2.5 gallon tank full, that would make it 242 wet and ready to ride. I have weighed mine, and I got ~260 pounds the way I ride it, with HD tubes, skidplate, rad guards, handguards, and lights. I'm not sure there is a full 20 pounds in there, so something isn't quite right...

So this says that a 449 is lighter than a 310? That seems crazy. Is that because of all the extra crap on a TE (as opposed to the TC race model)?

Sounds about right. HD tubes and HD off road tires alone can add 10 plus pounds.

yes, blinkers, lights, kicker, switch gear, wiring loom, horn, kick stand, brackets, EPA canister and hoses, computer and stuff all missing from the TC. that stuff adds up fast.

- its the reason I want a TC449 to go with my decked out (heavy for DS) TE511. Love the 511 but would love a 15-20 pound lighter TC449 and leave it stripped for off road only use.

The only weight that I did an accurate measurement on was my 2011 TE310 fully fueled with all my race ready bling added (and all the street gear off). It was basically in full world enduro CH Racing spec.
266 pounds ready to race. The scales used are NASCAR quality pad scales.

We will do a weight check of my TE300 after I have her completely done, I still want to add mousses and my TMD skid plate. My estimate will be about 10 lbs less than the TE310.....but also there is an extra gal of fuel to think about TE310 @2gal, TE300 @3gal full tanks.

the biggest weight issue for me and my machine is my own tank ass weight****************************************
above fotos, Didnt know if anyone noticed but I even re-tie downed and got new one set of red and one set of blue moose branded tie downs......all my crew commented on the color match and teased me about it.
About the weight thing the Beta owner and I also discussed using three pads of the scale system, 1 per tire and one on the end of the handlebar as the bike is layed over, to triangulate the cg of our 2T machines and do same for the 4T machine (that I still have TXC310R), we think the cg on the 4T will be higher from center of view, because of the upper engines cam assy. Make sense?
