• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I guess this qualifies as a "ride report"... from HELL!!!

Today was the 449's trip from its home in PA to its new home in NC. Me and the lovely wife and the Husky and our Golded Retriever (Brody) and our 9 year old Papilion (Gizmo) all packed up in the Jeep headed South after a wonderful couple of days with family, friends and a new bike!!!
About 10 miles into the journey, the lovely wife informs me that the Papilion tore into the "Easter Feast" trash bag at Mom's house last night. The subsequent conversation went something like this:
Me: "What was in the bag?"
Her: "All the trash from dinner last night"
Me: "No biggie... there were no food scraps in there... right???"
Her: LONG Pause.
The first projectile vomit occurred about 2 hours into the trip. All over me. The second projectile vomit occurred about 3 hours into the trip. On my lap. The third projectile vomit occurred about 5 hours into the trip. On HER lap.
Always look on the bright side... the smell in the Jeep for 7 hours reminded me of how wonderful last night's dinner smelled on the serving table....

he he he, how much can a 2 pound dog possibly throw up

I mean sorry to hear about your issues.

YUCK!!! I was on the phone with my wife while reading this ordering a sub for supper now .....I need to read about something a little cleaner. Hey at least it wasn't Brody or a problem with the new bike.

Dude, if it was Brody, we'd still be in Maryland... waiting on the HazMat team!
