• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I Love Wallybean

Yeah, I could've put this in Ride Reports since it's sort of a report. But not really.

And I could've put it in 2-strokes, I guess, since the heart of the matter is a 2-stroke. But that's like preaching to the choir.

Hell, I could have even posted it up on CraigsList's W4M since it's really a bit of a love note ;)

In the end I decided to put it here in General because I want everyone to know that Walt is a national treasure here in HusqvarnaLand and the man flat out knows what he's doing. And he's a super nice guy!

Eric and I took the WR's up to Stonyford and I had the best time riding my WB165!
Best dirtbike ever! He sent me a shiny new FMF pipe some time back (I'm embarrassed to say how long ago...) and this was my first real ride on it. It ran better than it ever has and was an absolute joy to ride! I can't say enough about that bike. Or Walt. Seriously.

Anyway, I'm proud to own and ride Huskys, I'm proud to fly the Husky colors when I ride them, I'm proud of the community we have here at CafeHusky, and I'm proud to know Walt and call him a friend

Thanks, Walt!

Thanks Tami! Completely undeserved. I am just a guy that likes to ride and tinker. I also just like to treat everyone the way I would like to be treated. Our world is too full of tough times and circumstances. It is just nice to have a great community like we have here and dirt biking in general to relieve the stresses of the real world.

PS, Is all of Stonyford open?

Completely undeserved? Hah! I think not. You are single-handedly responsible for the unbridled joy that quite a few of us Cafe denizens experience on a regular basis. You're good at what you do, Walt. And we all benefit greatly from it. Thank you. Really! :)

Most of Stony is open. One super-steep hill climb on the eastern side is closed still, and we rode by a "closed" sign on Trail 20. Looks like they're preparing to cut down all the burned trees in that area. Hope they don't ruin the character of the trail as it's a really fun section.

Did you see the Husky Memorial when you rode it with Eric? Anyway, this is what it looked like before...

This is what the same spot looks like now. The tree that it was attached to is gone, although the tree right behind it is still standing. We couldn't find the metal memorial marker anywhere. I'm hoping the friends that erected it came and got it after the fire...

Wow it's really cool to put faces with names from this really great forum. It's also really cool to see that members of CH get to meet each other and enjoy what we live for. Great post WC

Well, it ain't pretty, that's for sure. And it ain't easy, either. But, you know, nothing worthwhile comes easy, no?
And, hell, if it was easy everybody'd be doing it.

Kuddos to you! Your tougher than I am. I had one and loved it but a pulled muscle in my right leg makes it painful to kick start anything. I whimped out and bought the four stroke version of the WB 165 with the e-leg.

I tell you what Russ that TXC310R of yours is an amazing bike and 2nd in line behind my 165 for F-yes bikes in my lineup. Thanks again for letting me thrash her a little.
