• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I wish husky made a trials bike.

My old back yard in Helena, Montana. Best place for riding I ever lived

Wow..like one of these?

Gotta love the right side forward kick start! Whacks ya right in the shin just above the boot if not careful. Had that bike over 15 years.
Could not kill it and just kept chugging along.

BTW..the last half of 1985 there was a monoshock version available

Kelly, you taking notes on that kick stand? :D

Surly, looks like you had it made. cool pic:thumbsup:

The side stand was a brilliant and simple design that wrapped around the lower swing arm when in the up position. Completly out of the way and tucked in.

Never had a problem with it. My ridding buddy had a Scorpa and I think it didn't have a side stand (he might have taken it off).
The 280 motor is awesome. I rode the Scorpa 250 and it was actually harder for me. YMMV

I think a Husky 250 with a heavier flywheel, trials tire and low low gearing would be fun and cheaper than the TRide.

Now you are reading my mind.
My suspension is lowered 2". Trials tires and the works. Stearing angle seems steeper than the KTM and turning radius tighter. With a few minor mods it can be even tighter.
Gonna be a log hopping rock crawling wonder bike for a fraction of the cost of the T-Ride.

I have always loved trials myself and I own a vintage English trials bike. Actually has been in my family since it was new in 73.

Dalesman with a 125 Sachs engine.

I have a 2001 Sherco 2.9 and I love it. It's just a great change of pace from trail riding. Thinking of doing a few local trial events next summer just for fun.
