Hi Gang. Well, after a long time of trying to get the install worked out I should be good to go to finally try out iBeat this evening. HUGE thanks to all who have been helping me get this thing up and running.

I've not yet seen it "in person" (going to pick the laptop up from the guy who got it working for me)- so I have not yet had a real peek into the "Manual" folder of the disc.

Is use of this straightforward? I've never used EFI software. I know I need to set my TPS and, from what I have read (and this concerns me)- you're ideally supposed to have the Lambda plugged back in. To be honest I don't think I can even find the stuff that was removed by the dealer when they did the PU kit. Now reading through old info (where it's said that the Lambda needs to be put back) doesn't make sense to me anyhow- what I need is to set the TPS/fine tune while the bike is in PU mode (duh, b/c that's the way I run it.) I'm really interested in what my 3 numbers should be- relevant info is:

VA (close to sea level)
TE630- PU kit done and FMF single installed (can and mid pipe.)
No other mods (airbox stock, no labyrinth of course.)

My green light blinks, so interested in retrieving codes (which should be easy and obvious in manual.)

Anyway, if anyone has tips on how to use iBeat I'd appreciate hearing them. I will of course be reading the Manual file before changing anything.

You don't need the lambda back in...

See what the code says, could be any number of things related to the FI.

As for the settings, mine was happy at 103-120-112.
They are lean in the midrange, even after the PU kit, and especially after an exhaust.
Do you have a JD tuner, or do you plan to get one?
It's a lot easier to make adjustments on the bike, and it's got a couple more variables to play with to get things smoothed out.

Do you get any popping on decel? Not the "burble" but actual pops.

Thanks man- appreciate the response. I don't get actual popping on decel, but the burble sounds as though it's on the brink of a pop...mild though. I've read up on the JD Tuner's and while I may become interested in one in the future I don't plan on doing one this season (and maybe not the next.) My interest in iBeat is to make sure I have the TPS set right and make sure my "3 numbers" are right. I'm confident they're not- right now- given the PU, the pipe and the blinking green light. Again I'll be reading the manual tonight, but thought I'd check w/ you guys in case it's not obvious what I should be doing once it's hooked up to iBeat (or if the instruction manual sucks.)

Glad you finally got it worked out. Do you know yet what your installation issues turned out to be? just curious.

iBeat program, screen display and controls are all very user friendly and straightforward. Instruction manual is brief but to the point and easy to understand. You will not have any issues.

Thanks fella- especially to you. In short I was never able to get the virtual 32 bit environment loaded and running in the background. That's a me issue- not very technically savvy. Handed it off to our tech guy at work and, accurate or not, he was talking goobledy-gook about having to buy some program, reload the whole OS on my 64 bit machine, and some other stuff. In the end I finally laid my hands on an old 32 machine and now its ready to go. Was hoping to get into it last night but my clutch went out (still need to fully sort that...if anyone knows of a good aftermarket slave or slave piston/seal kit please chime in.)

I gave the iBeat manual a read through earlier today. Much does look pretty straightforward (nav, etc.) but what doesn't make sense- to me at least (and now understanding a little more why all the conflicting info/experiences)- is that, for example, it'll tell you how to change values but not where to set them. It says, understandably, to refer to the shop manual for the values (which does make sense, as the software supports various Huskys) but, when you refer to that section of the 630 shop manual, it doesn't specify values (such as FB, etc.) So it seems much will be trial and error.

Also- I still can't discern (in reading manuals and posts on CH in the EFI section) how to deal with tuning w/out the O2 sensor in. Reads to me as though its all based on all that crap still being in place. I'm still relatively early in this research (though doesnt feel like it) so perhaps this will come into focus by Saturday, when I plan to give it a shot.

Again (if anyone wants to share what setting they arrived at) mines a 630 w/ PU done and a FMF Powercore 4, stock airbox ( w/ inner crap removed) and no other mods.

Tuning w/ or w/o the O2 is the same. The bike doesn't know the O2 isn't there, it's just getting a fixed value feeding back (as if the O2 was stuck telling the bike it's lean) from the PU plug.

Can't help you on the settings. I'd speculate 107/107/114 would get you in the hunt. It's been on my mind to bypass my PCV and see what results I can get w/ just the CO settings, just gotta find the time. If satisfactory, would eliminate one possible failure point (PCV) also. We have the same setup other than the PCV.
