  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Ice/Snow riding here in Iceland...

C Class
Went riding in the hard packed snow here in Iceland on my TC 250 X-Light. My little baby needed itsy bitsy more power in them steep hills LOL... But wow how great fun and what a strong motor for not blowing up in those crazy long hillclimbs.

Would have gone on my new 449 but i didn get the spacer for the rear suspension so i dont hit the studed tire in the gas tank. Hopefully i get it for next ride.

Had my gopro with me, check it 720HD pixels....

Kick ass video, awesome riding AND filming AND editing skills.....camera was set well, music was turned down and I could still hear the bike, ...and the scenery....unbelievable for us temperate zone guys, that sun low on the horizon, and the snow, man I watched the whole 10 minutes and the last 60 secs ...WOW...thanks for posting

Great stuff there. It looks like dune riding....only really cold, slippery and wet....and the sun doesn't go down.

exactly! :notworthy: Awesome vid. As much as I like husky I think I would rather have the 570 there.

Wow, Comming from where I live it flat really flat. I would take a while to get use to that type of riding but would love to give it a try.

 Me, too!

That was incredibly beautiful stuff! Where were you riding? Is that public land or what? What kind of terrain is it when not snowy? It kind of looks like volcanic rock or something. And finally...can I come to Iceland and ride with you sometime? Please? :)

Danbartol, we use factory studded tires from Trelleborg. Awesome tires that last for long time.

Woodschick, this is a public land just few minutes from Reykjavik. Wich is the head capital here in iceland. And you are right about the texture, its an old volcano rock and is really rocky when its not snowy. Our biggest ski resort is on the same land, just few minutes where we where riding.

And if you are planning to come over to ride, no proplem, i can hook you up with a bike and take you for a tour to ride, you would proplebly have more fun tho to come over in the summer. Just let me know if you are serious about it ! my mail is binni@morgan.is

I have taken few riders for a ride and all just loved it.
