• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

ID my Husky

part of it is husky..alot of parts will swap around..so its not a terrible thing, good really.
that jug is a big bore. drain hole makes me say 430, not sure if the 400 had one.
the devol disc guard is a cool period piece.
if its 430 the jetting will be fairly close.
430 is exact same as 400, just bored further really. the 500 is a different animal.. different rod, crank cheeks, piston height, etc.

Im figuring the Husky part out, so far I love it. It's like Chevy's or Jeep's. Stuff just swaps. Anyway. I love the bike I wanna get it to a solid place where I can just burn fuel. One q though. My needle is kinda twanged like it got bent, someone bent it back. Little wave to it. Big deal?

yes, carb stuff need to be precise. sometimes the needle wears out the needle jet when its bent at all. yours is likely worn and a needle (if not perfectly straight) can go full throttle and stick if bent. if you have the carb out need to verify the needle jet size as well

166 is the style of needle jet. good, now that info all wrote down and your tuning will go much easier...i also have found gunk alot of times around that needle jet in an otherwise clean carb. if you run out of clip positions, the needle jet gets changed. your jetting should be pretty close for a 400/430 bike and stock exhaust. definitely enough to get it running around anyway.

Motoplat mini 6. Had some condensation I n it. Id like to pull it but there's special puller needed right? Oh and no up and down movement Justintendo.IMG_20160712_193243098.jpg
