• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Identifying P/U kit, and other ?'s

littlehandegan

Husqvarna
B Class
Picking up a 2011 Husky TE630 with 2,000 miles from a dealer. He says it has P/U kit installed but I want to make sure.

How do I check?

Also, any MUST do modifications to increase the bikes fun and safety?

Simple way: If there's a brass plug in the header, then it's confirmed. But if the 02 sensor is plugged into the header, chances are no PU kit.

Must Mods: I'd go ASAP with axle sliders and handguards just to be on the safe side. Then final gearing to suit the traffic you live in.

Enjoy the bike!

EDIT: I overlooked that it's a TE...you might not need axle sliders offroad but bashguards/skidplates are a must

Must do MODS are as follows:

JD tuner
LV x 3 slip on pipe or full system and 1 can
Light weight battery ( not a must, but takes some weight of )
Ck and make sure the recall on the rear sprocket was completed
Good chain
Seat concepts seat
Bash plate and hand guards
Most likely some better tires (depends on the type of riding you're doing)

Welcome and enjoy!

Thanks

Funny enough I have the new sprocket in a box my dealer sent me when I owned an SM a while ago.

How can I tell if it is the old style?

Also, whats the easiest and best plug and play tuner?

It isn't the sprocket that was recalled, it was the bolts. Specifically, the nuts.
