  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I got my tank on today. Fits good.

What a difference a year makes for IMS...wish they could have made a similar tank for the 08's and 09's! It looks great and carries the fuel lower.
 
Any possibility of getting some closer photos? The natural tank looks easier to see the details than the black photos Halls has.

:cheers: To a Co. (IMS) that went the final step and made it so you could put ur stock plastics back on, thats all im sprayin!
 
I know the natural tank is nice because you can see how much gas you have. Are there any other advantages to the natural over the black? I did a long technical hill climb on my te310 on an 80 degree day, when I got to the top the gas inside the black tank was boiling. Would there be a temperature difference between the two? I no longer have this bike and have done this climb several times on my wr144, same tank, same temp and no boiling. I am trying to help promote husky here in Utah and people are always saying what a slick looking bike I have...this is why I would order another black tank, but not if the natural is that much better.

Looks great Scott, mine should be here today / tomorrow for the 125. Could have used it this weekend.

As for black being hotter I bet there is little difference. The big difference is you went from a 4 stroke to a 2 stroke. They make reflective tape to put between the tank and motor for a 4 strokes heat.
 
I'm curious how this will work for the injected bikes. Will they have some sort of extended pickup tube off the fuel pump?
 
Ran mine on my WR144 this weekend at the National Enduro
No problems.
On fittment, it appears they used an early WR with the screw type petcock. The in tank filter on those screw type petcocks is a smaller diameter than the standard petcock so you have to make the hole just a wee bigger to fit the newer type petcock. No problem.
Also the stock screws for the rubber rear lower bumpers are 1 size too small...again...no biggee.
Shows the recesses for the TE TXC fuel pump and at lowest with a crossover tube so should malke maximum use of fuel. Front mount on frame with allen screw is same exact shape as stock so you guys having dampener mounting interference probs with stocker will also have with this. No problems with my WER and thats why I like the WER dampnener as it interferes with nothing up top. Get a WER or wait for the P3 based Clarke tank is all I can suggest. (Sorry but thats the way it looks for now)

No issues getting a damper on the 09-10 WR125 and TXC250 it was the 08 and earlier there was an issue.

thought there was a certain brand having issues with newer huskys? My bad if I was mistaken. Knew the Motosportz would fit but again.thought there was another brand out there.
 
Thanks for the info - I had thought from the first pictures they had maintained the oem tank top mount funkiness. I had to melt the tank on my '09 WR125 to get the GPR post to fit. Guess I'll wait for the Clark and see which will work best. I can only hope the Clark looks as good as the IMS.

Mine is here, yay! I guess I was lucky to buy the bike late. I only had to pack gas once which was last weekend. Even with 3 quarts on my back I still ran out.

Tank worked great this weekend. We had a HS on Sunday and it was nice not to stop for gas like I had to with the stock tank. I used 8L of fuel in 2 hrs and the stock tank is only 6L so it was great to have the range.

I ended up getting 2nd overall in the morning race. The tank was worth every penny!
 
Got mine yesterday ion Black, looks great, like the design and setup. the quick release crossover tube was a surprise. Will post pix soon.
