• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Interesting NOS Acerbis front fender????

Cool, I'd like to see a picture of the BAJA fender. Sounds interesting.

I'll shoot you a PM right now then, thanks.

Ok that basically shows what i do have

A) appolgies for showing this stuff in here and not classifieds, its just that i thought it would be good to continue it in this thread and keep the same info together with pics. so people can use this thread for future reference.

B) All these extensions were very hard to find 5 or 6 years ago. I had to contact a lot of old importers worldwide and got pretty much all of what the factory had left. After i cleared them out they only had a few things left in un-common colours like green and orange.

C) Due to the rarity of these, my prices are quite reasonable everything is under $25 AUD. i could list this stuff on ebay and get more but i havent got time.

D) The fenders that these suit, although hard and sometimes a hassle to get, can still be found if you do a bit of hunting and they are a lot easier to find than these extensions. The Acerbis BAJA & NOST fenders shouldnt be too hard to find in white as that was basically the last colour they did them in. Gradually evey year or so they were deleting other colours but i last saw the BAJA & NOST fenders in white in the Acerbis catalogues a year or so ago.

E) If you send me a PM, i may be a little slow to reply but i will get to you. i only check this forum every couple of days. I wont be ignoring you.

F) All the stuff i have is NOS and in original packets and in excellent condtion

Cheers.

OK Leith, just emailed you a few minutes ago. I as well, will be away after this, for atleats a few hours till tomorrow.

That Baja fender, and the extensions for it look pretty interesting. I never noticed those before.

I'll have to go nail down what I have and need tomorrow, thanks.

Fun stuff..........

Acerbis BAJA front fenders for big bikes are not an easy find.
Anyone know where these are available?

Any other pics of the Baja fenders???? They sure look interesting to me. I don't need one, just curious. So they are aimed at providing even more coverage than just the extensions on the standard Nost fender?

YES the Baja with and without extensions offer a bit more coverage than the Nost. The Baja also has always had the vents. The vent cover on the Baja alos stayed on the fender and you just slid it open or closed (very cool) but on the Nost it you had to remove it from the fender to open the vents. I think part of the reason they took the vents off the Nost fender is that they already had the vented Baja and didnt see the point in offering 2 vented front fenders. I reckon i still have a couple NOS white Baja vent covers too. Another difference is that the Baja fender extensions were smooth finish but the Nost extensions were more rough/matt. The Nost front and rear fenders were basicially their 'MX' fenders and the Baja fenders were 'enduro/XC' fenders. The Baja rear fender had a tail light built in. The other model they had was the 'Rally' front fener which was sort of a larger curve fender with a shorter rear section which suited big 500/600 4 strokes like XT600, TT600, XR600, XL600 etc.

I have a new Yellow Baja front fender (not for sale) so i will take a photo of it. I will also look on my computer to see if i have an other photos.

If i forget send me a PM and remond me:)

Try in the UK, particularly Acerbis UK/Bert Harkins Racing
http://www.bertharkinsracing.co.uk/

Most of the stuff i have shown i sourced through
http://www.motocrossworld.com/site/index.php

who got it all from Italy for me via Acerbis UK

Baja part number is 8014

I am confident you would be able to find them in white.

also try Acerbis USA

I did some quick googling and found one here

http://www.mc-japan.net/shopping/acerbis_p/fender_tail/menu.htm

also photos here

and

and here

http://www.atic.org/accessory/misc.php

if you try from here make sure its the Baja 8014. Thats the one they show in white but the text says RALLY and NOST. The RALLY is also another fender similar to the NOST & BAJA

this place shows the MINI BAJA. Might pay to ask if they have the full size version. i havent checked their store though.

The Baja front fender is growing on me, as far as it's looks go. That with the extension would be pretty cool.

Great links, I took a look at all of them.

Thanks for posting...........

Yeah there was a time where i really liked it too. Took me ages to find 2in yellow and a blue extension. I had 2 white ones and a blue one but i sold them a couple years ago. I reckon i know where some blue and green ones are.

Sear for a ebay seller called 'eddytwinshock' I know i have seen him list a lot of old Acerbis stuff.

Heres a pic of some early Nost fenders around 83/84

Just remembered DC plastics http://www.dcvmx.com are reproducing the Acerbis Nost front fender and optional front extensions. I cant find them on their new site but i know they do have them and have been selling them. Here is a photo off their old site

Now that I kinda know what I'm looking at, I've noted a small number of bikes with the Acerbis Baja front fender.

Was there any extension for the rear portion of the Baja's ever available???? I may try to get my hands on one of those Baja fenders as well.

No, ive never seen them in any catalogues. I did try and mount the nost extension on on the back part of the baja, although its not made for the Baja, you can get it to fit sort of OK.

When i was looking around today i did see i had a couple NOS white vent covers for the Baja, think i may have a red and blue too.

Preston Petty "Mudder" fenders are now available again.

Someone bought out Preston Pettys patent and has started producing a few different front fenders and some rear fenders along with the Preston Petty headlight. (paul ? I think)

Bob Bean

1986 ISDE Italy
1987 ISDE Poland
1989 ISDE Germany

Mudder fenders huh? Any pics? Sounds interesting.

The headlight sounds interesting as well. My Husky/Acerbis numberplate headlight plastic is hurt, so I was wondering if there are alternatives to the DC plastics repro.

Stictly Hodaka now have the rights to re-producing Preston Petty parts
