  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Interesting questions.

I think this covers all your criteria.

Ha ha. If by 'criteria' you mean the worlds heaviest, least performing motor per cc, then yes! =)

rsv aprillia 550 please

I had the opportunity to buy one of these brand new for $5,200, but I couldn't get past the fact that virtually every review of the bike was bad... very poor reliability, apparently. So, I went over to the Husky dealer and got a new 511 for $1000 more. Still wonder it I made the best choice. It sure is a nice looking bike.

I was in the same boat before I bought my Husky! That aprillia was so bad ass looking, except that's all it had going for it unfortunately. Made me buy the Husky instead.

I dont give a dam what others think ive read reviews slating its lack if ability to put the v twin power down. Sounds like they need to grow a pair lack of handling grow a pair an if ya still dont like it shove sm wheels on it n dont open any post from the local constabulary!

I would love one never ridden rsv but would be all on it.

The reliability issues were 07's and then afterwards they were good to go.

Reviews are like rumors. They may not be accurate but they're based on some level of fact. The "reviews" I read weren't just from the press but from owners venting their frustrations on forums like this one. I knew that the '07s were messed up, but post '07s seemed to frustrate a lot of owners too. Left them stranded frequently. However, it might have just been a matter of sorting the problems out (like our Husky's need) and it might have been a real dream bike. I guess I'll never know.
