Now, if one of your riders drop out, it's up to 5 five rider's only to continue riding consistently quick in order to maintain the overal times, drop another rider and it's down to 4 riders making almost impossible to win the Trophy title - this is what makes the ISDE such a teams event as it's not about being the quickest rider (it helps if your riders are the quickest in each category), it's about rewarding the team that can maintain a fast time consistently over the course of 6 days.
What we the Aussies (possibly the rest of the world) are peeved about is that the DQ'd French riders were reinstated, including their individual riders times on days 4 and 5, on the the 5th day with only 1 day remaining yet there where no penalities awarded to any rider who were DQ'd on the 3rd day, making the rules abit of a farce as it means that you can miss a check point and claim safety and be rewarded with the ability to compete in the event with NO PENALTY at all.
