As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Special Kudos to Fred Hoess cause he is the man, he is older than Chilly White. Alot in fact, rides a Husky too.
Fred is the man for sure. I'm not positive on the numbers, but he has to be closing in on 25 ISDE's and definitely top US rider for Gold's at 16. Fred has only had 1 or 2 dnf's and always been on Gold or Silver and never Bronze. Czech ISDE 2002, he was the only US rider on Gold and I think Chilly rode that one. Fred will ride the ISDE no matter what, Trophy Team or Club Team. He'll also share his vast knowledge of how to get it done with any rider. Fred has ridden Husky longer than anyone (albeit with interruptions)... Swedish, Italian and German owned.Fred really is the man. I actually have told Husky NA that they should do a little more to promote his ISDE accomplishments. I don't know the actual numbers, but he has to be second all time for number of rides behind Fredette. He also has to be somewhere very close to the top in gold medals. For comparison sake, it has changed a little with the advent of the "C1" class. But he continues to rack up the numbers and be the perennial top American club rider.
Not that it makes any difference in anything, he and I are not even on the same page of talent, but I am actually just a tick older than he is.
Thanks Chilly! I was just about to post the link to your site. I've been looking at it every day and you have best info on the USA Team!Apparently no one here follows my site, we have complete results for every US rider, every day

has the charts (need updating) of competitors and the numbers for the amount of ISDE participations and other stats.
Got some stuff up there that I never realized ex. Peterhansel 5x OA ISDEs.
Fredette, Hoess, Drew Smith and Randy Hawkins all have high on the chart top numbers of ISDE competitions, LR is also on the list with 13. Their names are among greats of the sport.
I must say a real treat riding every year at the NE Husky Gathering with Drew and Fred.
Pick up things just watching and of course they are always there to give a pointer or two (or three of four for me personally ....LOL)
Reason they won't help Fred is simple They are Jealous,
Reason he didn't get his bike until the very last second.
