  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Kelly, Bill set it at 106 - 108 - 112. Hope it helps. Gramps

That is with the reflash and the SA in or out?

Mine gets done this week.

I never liked the way it ran before so I put the TE250 away and was racing my 2 strokes.

I hope to be able to race the TE at Rattlesnake next weekend.

Thanks

That's with the SA in.It might not work for you as I'm running a 1 5/16" outlet with a 90 degree turn down spout. To help kill the DB's. Thanx Chris

Hi Rich - where are you getting yours done? I went to our dealer a couple weeks back and they said they didn't know much about it other than what it was being said here...doesn't really help us.

Thanks

havent tried it yet, will found out sunday at foggy mountain enduro

I DNF'd at Foggy with a wasted main beairng on my 125. I had to quit at the 1st half gas.

How did you do.

How did the bike run?

What EFI setting are you running?

stock EFi settings, havent touched it with an I-beat yet,re-flash didnt seem to improve anything anywhere, and i think they made the bike way too much for moto, you cant lug the bike down low at all without covering the clutch and riding like a very pipey 125,if you were in third or fourth gear all the time it doesnt show up as bad,but if you need to drop into first going through a boney section, you have to slip the clutch or it will stall as it has way too tall first gear,if the boney section happens to have a hill and you have no run at it,slipping the clutch so it wont stall, once it breaks traction it goes all over the place, bike flamed out at least a dozen times, very fast into corners brake sliding with the clutch in the bike stalls everytime unless i keep the throttle up which is very tiring, lost my kickstarter, motor mounts loosened up again and got a front flat, the bike has less than 60 hours on it and about 600 miles, two races, ive had it with it and thinking of selling it,i just think the 2009 was 100 times more bulletproof and nothing fell off it and it idled down to nothing without flaming out, worst finish of the year for me,ended up 12th AA with a very high score, and really wanted to quit after every section, very frustrating to go from a great 09 to this bike

Sorry to read your frustrations man. I am not having anything like your experience with mine. Hope you find a happy place with it somehow.

I must agree with your assessment of the tall 1st gear. Definitely NOT the lugger that the '09 TXC was (I owned an '09 too). However, I will say that my '10 TXC with the Leo Vince and accompanying ECU transformed the bike from good to WOW! (but still too high in 1st). There may still be some '09's available if you look around. Would hate to see you abandon Husky.:cheers:

Fury I was thinking about this during the Enduro yesterday, did you mail the ECU to them and then you put it on your bike? Reason I ask is the TPS needs to be reset once you install the updated ECU. Sorry you are having these troubles but I wished I could have gotten there early enough for you to ride my bike. I will definitely be at the Michaux even though that is not until Sept. I will help you out any way I can to get your bike right. Every time I go to Foggy I wish I had a trials tire!

nice meeting you Tim,I know they put it on a bike to reflash it,but Im sure the TPS hasnt been reset on my bike,no one touched it yet. ya probably more frustrated because of the bad results and pointing the finger at the bike, you know the saying "a bad carpenter blames his tools"

joe chod is fed up with me crying about it to him on the phone and has decided enoughs enough and will meet me this weekend and straighten it out for me! thanks joe!!

Kevin,
You can cry to me all you want.... all my customers do anyaway!:busted: Seriously, you can call me anytime, but I'm not much of a 4 stroke guy. My friend Greg's '10 TXC250 runs real well, but it has a VIN that puts it past needing a reflash.

If it makes you feel better, my friend who had the '09 TXC250/300 with all the self inflicted over heating problems last year. Well, he switched to a Honda CRF250 this year and guess what? He has problems with it also and can't get parts in a timely fashion.

Answer to all Husky 4 stroke problems... WR150!

norm saw him trying to start that bike, kick, kick, kick, kick, finally push started,he must have stalled it in the next section, because he was kicking again out on the road off the trail, didnt see him the rest of the day, dont think he ever got it fired up.
I would never buy a four banger without a button, never ever, one time is all it would take and I would leave it in the woods!!

I do want to try someones that doesnt have issues just to see what im missing!

Greg will be at Husky Gathering and I'm sure he'll let you take it for a spin. He was the guy on the TE610 at Joe's when you picked the WR144 up.

Gonna try to meet Kev at an area and bring laptop, i beat, A?F sensor, TPS % indicator and RPM and test some stuff. Gonna do the mechanical zero and i beat zero 1st and seee what that does. Not monkey with CO settings at all at first. We will get it done.

I didn't even think about the TPS! Good catch Tim. The TPS reset is critical after installing a re-flashed ECU... ask me how I know. :banghead: I failed to do the TPS after the initial install of my Leo Vince and the bike ran like crap off idle.

Getting a little too technical here so don't try this at home. I have been experimenting with a advanced TPS on my bike and like it. Not sure if it is right and I have the Leo ECU. I have advanced my TPS 1.5% and I think it gives it a little better throttle response.
