• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just bought a husky! (questions)

..I had a 99 CR 250 and if my memory serves me,there wasn't a bleeder on it nor the later models-just checked my 99's manual that I have(bike was stolen)and it doesn't show one ,and I looked at the parts fiche for '00-02 and it doesn't list one. Not all bikes had them so what I did in the past was to slowly fill rad and when it got visible above inner core,(leaving cap off)I would slowly kick engine thru several times to get pump moving fluid(do not start)..check level again, fill as needed and let it stand for 15 minutes(still keeping cap off),then slowly kick thru(w/out starting)several more times and recheck.Sounds like a lot but while I'm waiting I find something else to do ,like clean filter,etc..The cylinder head doesn't have the restrictive gasket (uses o'rings)which may cause air pockets .

Yea, I just finished up a little while ago. Took the bike for a spin and did not notice coolant decreasing. Not sure if the dude who I bought it from (He received it as a trade) just assumed the waterpump was leaking because of milky oil. But bike did not get cleaned in forever so sitting outside could do that too if you let it get rained on for years

Yo do not have to bleed the husky, just lean it side to side and turn the motor over a little and it will be full.

looks ok,the great thing about huskys is there very easy to work on,ive had 3 now all 99 02 04 and they all looked like yours, but few hours cleaning and striping it down and itll look great,im looking for a 250 for myself now.but i cant let my beautiful 04 125 go!

Heres another question. How do I go about getting the rear suspensions gas cylinder refilled? It feels ok right now, but I'd like to empty it, no idea when it was ever done.

Got questions on questions for yall. How about Radiator guards? Searched all the sites right now for parts without luck. Even a Brace would help. This will be a enduro/scramble machine. So would like to get some additional protection.
