  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

K&N oil filters

Anybody using k&n oil filters out there?I've been using them in my other bikes and was thinking of trying them in an 09 Te510.

K&N oil filters are made by Hiflo. IMO they are good filters, but you pay more for them compared to Hiflo.

Thanks just don't want to buy something and then find out I've made a mistake with a new bike.

That's why some people use what their manual recommends. :D

The owners manual I received when I purcahased this bike,is the worst manual I have ever gotten with a bike.Basic information for routine maintenance was even lacking. There are even conflicting values for the same thing in it.I also have the shop manaul not very good.

I asked the dealer where I bought my bike what oil and filter they recommended and followed their advice. I will look at my manual and see what they recommend.

So did I ,have a high flow in the bike now.I bought a couple of those at the dealer when I bought the bike.I believe someone has said that high flo is made by K&N,in 1 of the above replys.I was just trying to purchase all the same type from the same dealer as I am buying them for several different bikes.

Been using K&N 154 in my '08 TE610 since day one. Now that shop is out of business, and can't seem to locate one anywhere. Gonna have to change to Hi-Flo (no Biggie) but also gonna have to locate Spectro 20/50 since no one carries that either!
