• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Lectron does it again - Older FE501 Berg...

I found this owner's review.
I like what he's saying... must be great bikes...

"Perfect bike for fast trail riding, simple and use specific. With a smaller fuel tank it would work well in a motocross setting. Very stable in whoops and it turns well, very well on the front wheel. Once the sag is set the stock setting work very well for tough gnarly sections as well as sandy sweepers. Has a very European set up for the rider which translates into a competive style of handling."
"The motor is the best 4-stroke ever designed. It is capable of any input by the rider and the power is unlimited. This bike will not give you any unwanted surprises, just power and handling to match it."
"I have always ridden and owned British or Euro motorcycles, by far this is the finest example of engineering I have ever owned. In spite of what the Magazines say. In it's present form this is in my opinion the best bike on the market for people who truly enjoy the dirt bike world. I gave up KTM and Husky's for this, although Husky is close. It's to bad these don't get more press. One thing that strikes me funny is how one of the tabloids described the Berg as very old world and euro. Oh? Ok."
"Anyway well worth the price, magic it is."

yes. Should be done soon. Not needed in my app. The motor is awesome on the bike right now, can hardly wait to go unleash it again.
I wonder if Kevin would be interested in me testing one against the ones I tested for my 610 when he developed the current carb?
