• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Lectron

I had a Springfield 1911 9mm (sweet pistol), traded it for a Taurus .357 SS. Now that's a stopper!
I think I still have a couple of extra mags for the 1911, if you want them let me know.

I ordered a 2017 KTM 300 XC-W Intake Flange Part # 55430250000. I installed a 38mm Lectron and it was a bit tight to install. Plus the air boot is very close to the rear shock spring. This 2017 300 xc-w intake flange is a few mm shorter and should fix the problem without the need to cut the air boot.2017 KTM 300 XC and 2017 KTM 300 XC_W Intake Flange.jpg

Maybe he's having the same problem I'm having with mine? It worked great for a year and now it just floods the bike and if I'm lucky enough to get it running, it runs like trash. I took it apart twice this week and inspected everything, especially the needle seat valve and it all looks ship shape. I'm perplexed. Maybe mine ran out of the magic ferry dust and unicorn farts everyone claims make lectrons work so good? Hehe. Looks like I'll be shipping it back for repair today.

I posted somewhere here I found a local source for bulk race gas, so started mixing Sunoco 110 with non-ethanol 90 @ 2:3 ratio which results in 98 octane (if I did the math correctly). Also switched the 165 from Klotz ST, 40:1, to Amsoil Dominator, 50:1.
I was running 3-2m rod in 38mm Lectron with my previous fuel mix, @ 95 octane, with the rod pretty lean @ 49.85mm. It was borderline lean on the bottom, a little fat in the middle and top, plug was almost black, but not wet or cruddy.
With the new fuel mix it was way fat on the bottom unless I leaned the rod too much. So today went back to MS-3 rod, @ 49.7mm, and got a big improvement. Now I can feel and smell the race gas, smoke and spooge reduced and back to rippin through the gears without a single hiccup
First clue it was the right move was bike started right up as usual, but had to adjust idle screw to 1 1/2 turns out. It really is that simple to me. The bike should start easy and idle screw should be @ 1 1/2. If not, adjust the rod or try a different one.

I called Lectron today and ordered a replacement needle seat valve. Once it arrives and I get the bike running again with the 3-2xl rod already installed, I plan to try the 2-3xl rod and see how it runs.

So after chasing my tail thinking I was having lectron woes, turns out my 300 swallowed a broken reed petal. I was surprised being it barely has 40 hours. So I'm somewhat pleased the fooding problem has been identified but the prognosis leaves me with the headache of pulling the cylinder off to flush out the case and remove any remnants of the reed.
