• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

led turn signals with relay

Has anyone added led turn signals and a relay that plugs right in to replace oem (on an '07 te450)? Also, any good sites with led lights...I saw some with a flexible post, but can't find the site again!!

Gracias! (My first post on this site).

Welcome, donkey!

I put rear led signals on my 610 but didn't add the relay that would make them flash slower. They flash slightly faster than they used to, but it isn't a problem at all. I think I paid $20 for them at Cycle Gear.

The original relay on the TEs is a electronic unit rather than mechanical relay so it should cope with LEDs without needing to be replaced (well it is on UK bikes anyway!)

I have a pair from Electrosport. They are great, and very flexible (I test them repeatedly each time I ride!!)
I only have them on the back so far and do not have the relay yet but was thinking about getting a set for the front and might try to find a relay that makes them blink slower

Thanks Rum Runner, those were the I saw a few weeks back. They have a two pin relay on their site, not sure this fits husky. I'll have to check the bike.....anyone know off hand?

I've got LED's all the way around, well except right rear that got wiped off the fender a few rides ago. Anyway, the blink rate approximately doubled but it's actually not a bad thing considering they are smaller than the OEM's so maybe have more visibility with the higher rate. I went with the Zeta guards up front and some generic low profile things from Cycle Gear on the back.

I ended up changing the blinker relay because my stock relay wasn't making good contact and wouldn't work unless I held it in place at an odd angle.

The electrosport relay is only $13., you have to change the plug ends, but that's no big deal.

BTW- the relay on the te450 is behind the headlight fairing.

I also changed the taillight to the stealth LED....now the headlight doesn't dim when you hit the brakes.:)

Very nice!
I've been thinking of adding LED's on the front and getting the relay. What did you have to change to add the LED taillight?

Thanks for the info! :applause:

Just disconnect the old lamp and start melting off some plastic!!

I think the stealth bracket is a bit sleaker, but you do have to bolt it to the fender....3 stainless screws.

The light is smaller and just bright enough.

Relay on the 08 TE's is back by the battery. Mine was dangling in the airbox.... I finally asked my dealer where the relay was on mine because there ain't squat behind the headlight on the 08's.
