As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

NothingClever;29060 said:Does anybody know if it makes a difference which wire is connected to which blade terminal on the relay?
The 2 x wires off the loom are red/green and blue/black.
The blade terminals on the relay are 49 & 49a.
I couldn't find anything in my repair manual to indicate an answer.
I'm thinking it won't make a difference but wanted to hear from you guys who've installed LEDs.
will the dash indicator still work?HUSKYnXJnWI;28706 said:I have the above relay from electrosport- should plug right in from what I gathered- I installed my new leds and decided they blink just fine with the stock relay- no inspiration to really change anything- so I may try my led relay at some point but don't see a need to at this point-
I say this because- if someone wants to make the change to LED on there's and decides its too much trouble... you can skip the relay for cost or confusion, it will just blink slightly faster- least on 08/09s- with that relay. Stock is a 2 prong- (its the common one). LED is the way to go- low power and more dependable. Keep in mind cheap ones (really cheap) can be too dim and useless.

HuskyDude;33931 said:Yes. Changing to LED turn signals will not interfere with any dash indicators.![]()
NothingClever;27492 said:Yep, I should have ordered from www.electrosport.com. I think I shied away from them because I read some lingering forum reports about poor customer service.
I bought my signals and relay from www.sicassracing.com and paid too much. $37.95 for a pair of indicators and $23.95 for the 3 wire relay from sicassracing versus $23.95 for a pair of indicators and $12.95 for the relay from electrosport.

(Can't remember if it was stuck on or off, but it didn't blink at all.) I installed 10 ohm resistors in parallel with the signals to restore normal blink rate and dash indicator operation. I'm curious if the dash indicator would blink normally if the turn signal flasher was replaced with an electronic one that blinks at a normal rate with LED signals. I'm guessing no but I don't know.
