• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I have the twin arrows installed. no flashing lights. they come with a new ecu was that installed ?

Yes. Did that and checked everything twice. All hunky dory. Think the German importer (Zupin) will have to help. When I first `phoned them, they said I´d have to put up with it. But it is disconcerting. Always think it´s the indicator light flashing.

All I need now is an improvement on the tail light and number plate setup (has to be E3 stamped (!)

No Flashing Light

I have disconnected my Lambda. I found an old 2.2k ohm, 1/2 watt resister in the shed, connected it into the wiring loom plug for the Lambda, (into the pins the "white" wires of the Lambda connect into, my guess the heater element) ) and no flashing lights. :D
Oh, and now the bike runs MUCH better.

Power on Regardless

B´Jasus ... that´s what comes of being ignorant. I´d never have been able to connect a resistor (couldn´t even tell you what a resistor looks like). I had to buy the kit (and most likely got summat wrong even then). And I´d just got used to the flashing green light. Now you´ve got me all worked up about and I´ll be on the the importer on Monday. I´ve always known that ignorance was so much more satisfying.

FI-Fuel Injection system. The pu plug replaces the lamda sensor and puts the ECU in race mode. Is the lamda sensor still installed with the Arrows? Is light still flashing when old ECU installed? If light flashing all the time for no reason you will never know if a sensor fails or is out of spec!

yes new ecu was installed. Willie what is the FI? fuel injector?? also the pu plug? thanks

The lambda sensor is still in place (the lead is tied up under the saddle as I want it to look as if the sensor is still functional), but disconnected and the pu plug is installed. The green light didn´t flash previously. It does now.

Try reconnecting the lamda sensor. The ecu may not be seeing the pu plug resistor and is flashing accordingly.

i bought the kit from Hall's and installed so lamda sensor is off and bike runs 100% better i will try and put old ecu on and see what happens with flashing green light. thanks

So can anyone shed some light on the install of the Twin Arrows on the TE630? I already had the PU kit installed at the dealer and I just want to add the new arrow pipes and ecu. Is it as simple as removing the old cans and bolting up the arrows and then unplugging the ecu and plugging in the new and done? I don't want to go back to dealer...too far away.

Thanks

Yes. Might take a few minutes longer than you described. But very simple. The ecu´s under the seat and so easy to get at. While you´re at it, you might want to take a look at the carbon replacement shields and kit listed in the Husky special parts catalogue (looks a lot nicer than that vast expanse of aluminium).
