  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Lights on a 2010 TXC 250

Has anyone added lights to the 2010 TXC 250? I want to put the Trail Tech 70w Halogen on mine and am wondering if the bike will run it stock or if I need to get a stator?

I'm going to the Ozark 100 miler Thanksgiving weekend and there is a night section at the end that the bike will need a light. I'm hoping I don't need the stator...

Well, I don't know if they use the same stator, but we are running the 70W Trail Tech headlight, LED taillight, LED turn signals and a GPS off of the stock stator/battery setup on an 09 TXC 450. We haven't had a single starting issue or battery drainage issue. I had the same setup on a KTM 250 with stock stator...again no issues. I seriously doubt you'll need a stator IMO.

I know you have power there on a TXC, I have headlight/tail light on mine. I just do not remember how powerful the stator is. I think you also should run a Voltage regulator in there as well. For some reason I think it is 70 watts as I had a 55 watt headlight.

I seem to remember reading that the efi bikes had higher output stators than the carbed bikes. I don't think you'll have any problems

My dealer informed me the 2010 TXC 250 has the same stator as the 2010 TE 250. I don't have any lights installed to confirm or deny this..........
