• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Logan's all New Rebuilt 2001/2011 Kawasaki KX-65 A-1

how is logan doing with the new ride?

Honestly ... it's been to hot to ride or we have had some kind of "event" going on that has killed riding. Also my wife hit me with a honeydo list a mile long....now that I did the makeover on my 450 and Logans Bike, I "owed" her so I have installed a big HD flat screen over the fireplace, built a new mantle and bookshelves and a complete built in surround.... carpentry and cabinetry is my hobby /stress releiver... and completey redid all the sprinklers in the front and back yard...the new Toro High effieciency sprinkler heads are the bomb... my water bill has gone down 30% and my yard has never looked better.

July and August are usually non-riding months around here , at least for most of the guys I ride with....track riding is great if you go real early to beat the heat...

Planning on hitting Cahuilla MX on Sunday two weeks from now for his maiden voyage... wide open kids track that he can ride in first gear all day long while he learns to use the clutch...or maybe some of teh longer range fireroads that are right around it...

I just realized looking at the pictures I have his bars rolled way to far back... no wonder it feels wierd right now... kinda like sitting on a Harley with them all the way back there....

Ok here it is finally...Logans first ride on the KX 65 ... first time with a clutch and first time shifting up and down.... all in all he did very well. thirty or so laps on the 65 track at Cahuilla creek.... 88 degrees only one other kid on the pewee track.... no problems using clutch at all... took to it like he was a natural....two crashes ... more like tipovers...
