• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Looking at tr 650....ews code does not run?????

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Would you be scared to buy a bike that don't run and what would I.spend to get it running??? Are they problematic with BMW engineering???

I would suggest you do a search on this forum for EWS.
Some fixes have been fairly simple, but if the coded key is missing this could be a big issue.

Depending on the issue, you may not get it running ever. Why did the current owner not get it fixed? What price is he asking?

Owner claims he hasn't had time to mess with it.... App 4000 miles on it..I'm thinking 2500$... No dealer i would dream of trusting in Minnesota....I would hall it to halls....I have read as simple as disconnecting the battery or key ring and a few things but in my mind even if the guy don't admit it I bet he has tried a few things...all the simple things...I just don't want to end up spending a fortune and you are buying without hearing run which is scary..

You could get lucky and be an easy fix, on the other hand, it may need a new ecu and good luck getting that programmed for the bike.

If you cannot do the work I would advise to walk away. The caveat being if you are willing to part it out if you cannot get it running. Again, you will need to be able to work on the bike to some degree.

I'm gonna put a call into halls tomorrow and see there thoughts..thanks!

Hope it all works out, they're great bikes, and if yours only has 4k miles, that is a plus.

Do a search for "ECU Ground". Seems like some bikes can be fixed with the addition of a ground wire from the ECU case to the battery neg terminal. You might be able to do this temporarily with a piece of wire as a test. :excuseme:
