• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Looking for boot reccomdations

sg10s or crossfires. have both & love both. gaerne maybe a little wider but sidi feel 'safer' to me. sidi feel tight at first but mould to your foot a bit. i got fat size 12 hooves so ordered the 13 & perfect fit. either way both a great boot. dont buy cheapo boots! get the best ones you can afford youll thank yaself later & save $ & hassle long term!

I guess I'm the oddball here...I love my Alpinestars Tech 10s. I don't know if they come in a wide size or not. They seem like a pretty narrow boot, and I would think the toe box would be pretty cramped for someone with a wider foot (its more pointy than squared). They are an all day boot and I have literally stood in a stream without water getting in (they don't always keep the water out, but they do a pretty good job).

My husband has chosen Sidis as his next boot. All the people I have talked to that wear them say that they are incredibly comfortable. He tried a pair on at a local dealership and said that they run really small...like about 1-1.5 sizes too small.

I only have one piece of gear that I paid my own money for, the Crossfires. This pair I bought in January 2008. They have been resoled and are still going strong. I have since picked up a used second pair. In my opinion, nothing compares.

The sizing is way off, so it is important to try them on first. That might me where much of the idea of them being too narrow comes from.

Took my Sidi crossfires for their first run the other day and noticed.....NOTHING! They were the most comfortable boot from brand new I've ever tried. I was also trying out my new pivotpegz and I have to say the hinged ankle and pivoting peg are an awesome combo:awww:

They definitely run narrow. I normally wear a 46. A 46 Crossfire was definitely too short, my toes were jammed up against it. I went up to a 48, which fit fine for the toes, but was still too narrow. I suppose a 50 might not have been to narrow, but then it would have been way too long.
