• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Looking to buy a Lectron for the 86

If the choke would be easier to reach on the opposite side just order the choke lever. That's about all it does, it makes it Mikuni like.

nice...the cable mount choke may be of interest..its about 4 inches long. did you inquire about using the mikuni lever? did it fit well with those dimensions?

love the polished airbell and taperbore on the tron

Thanks again, it fits just fine.

I am looking forward to hearing how you like it, can you ride now or are you under snow?

boy, you have one of those four tooth sprockets, those are scarce!

Your ride videos are fun, I about fall out of my chair when those trees go flying by...keep them coming please..

LOL I did hit a tree once, i hope only once too.
Front wheel slid out and the forks hit the tree, bike was stuck on the tree with the tree between the wheel and fender.
I flew past the tree by a good 10 feet.
Hope to run a 14 sprocket instead of the 13, if this Lectron increases the low end really good.

I am in the snow, so the next single track ride wll be in April.

Steve

Well i stuck the lever on it from 1 of my old carbs.

Works just fine with a slight mod to the lever and removed the knob on the lectron choke and put a nut on it with lock tight.

looking forward to what you think about the leccy..did you notice what rod it shipped with? im guessing 3-2?

Had the bike out at the MX track today testing the carb and stuff out.
Wow never felt the bike haul the mail like that before, shit does it ever rip now.
Left me thinking i had a tiny tire or some race gas lol clutch is slipping in 4th pretty good.
It never did that last season, so making some better power :)
Well 1 minor thing to get ready for the season.
Super happy with the swap. The plug looks great, just adjust the idle and go.

Looks like spring up there! Where's all the white stuff?
That's one pretty bike.
Nice to hear the Lectron is giving you more HP. I can't wait to get my Lectron on.

are you able to give more info on the choke conversion? im trying to use some mikuni chokes laying around but it seems the plungers are too tall..

I don't recall all the details it was 3 months ago.
I put the lever under the lectron plunger, had to make it a touch thinner and wider perhaps to fit...
Took the knob off and made a notch in the threads for the lever to grab on too.
Then found a nut to put on top or above the lever/notch with loctite to make it good and secure for the pull up.

Been out 8 times, since i made that 1 adjusment the bike runs super.
1 kick hot or cold to start :)
I rode with 3 modern bike riders on Sat for the first time.
They were a little suprised how well it started and ran, i got fully dressed (mega gear) helmut and all on then I fired the bike cold, 1 kick haha and said lets go.
Doing that with gear on could be risky. when some big bores take mega kicks to start, your sweating hard before you even ride.

must be since you had the push pull choke, and i have a lectron cable choke..im ordering a few powerjet tubes for my 360 tomorrow, maybe ill get one of their other chokes so i can mod it. i hate the cable choke..

the lectrons are truly a great carb otherwise.
