• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Looks like it will be Beta for me

I have been a loyal and happy Husqvarna owner and on this forum since 2009. I think I can say with confidence that I have never said a negative word towards Husqvarna, BMW, or any other bike or person and I won't start now. I absolutely love my WR125 and TC250.
However, at a recent Trials event that I competed in, I innocently asked the Beta national rep where the closest enduro dealer was and it has resulted in myself becoming the Beta Enduro dealer for the Knoxville, TN area!
I never intended to be in the bike business, but things fell in place and just could not see a reason not to do it. Well maybe I could, but I want to do it! I will section off my boat shop and add "Knox Enduro" on one end.
I have a new Beta 250RR on the way, may keep my wr125, and I will still be hanging around the Cafe some.
Now Coffee, we really need a Beta section on here....

Ill have my new 520 sometime this week if all goes well, she will sit right next to the 449, think I'm keeping her now .

Congrats on the dealership, I've heard nothing but positive on how they treat their distributers.

Just placed 2nd in my first enduro this year with my Beta 300rr today only had about 5hours on it before this race. They work very well, you won't be disappointed. I still have and love my WR165 but this Beta is only 9 lbs heavier and handles just as good.

I saw the new 300 at moto exotica and have had an infatuation ever since....found a dealer in Spokane....damn fine bike...if I hadn't just bought the wr 300 a little over a year ago I would have one. I think it's incredible that Beta gambled on a enduro bike, developed a sweet bike, wins accolades and races....just awesome. Congrats on the dealerships water racer. I Agree their should be a place for the other Euro's on cafe husky. Especially if Ktm blends husky into rebadge. I think it's pretty ironic that euro can build enduro bikes Americans want,Sherco, gas gas,beta,etc..etc. and America just builds Atk and Harley .....why can't USA build a bike? Cannondale fail?
Congrats again those betas are soooo sweet.....

Not sure if I should be getting congratulations or condolences!
On the positive side I never hear or read anything negative about Beta and corporate does seem easy to deal with.
On the downside, I hear about the shrinking market, and bikes are expensive nowadays.
My plan is to stay lean, I have low overhead (payed for), and I will cater to the serious woods rider/racer.
I am also going to be making my own line of carbon fiber protection parts and bling, which should help, as there is not a lot of mark-up on new bikes.

The have a large gas tank for betas yet?

Yes a 3.8 is available in the BYOB program. I think Am Beta sells them as well.

Other companies ought to take a look at that BYOB program, loaded mine up with aftermarket stuff I always wanted :D .
All at a discount and all without messing with factory warranties.

Are you going to ship bikes?
Just getting started so still getting things sorted, but don't see any reason why I couldn't. It may save sales tax, have to wait and see what the new online sales tax law brings.
I will also need to become a sponsor of this site to sell, which I may anyway, I am making carbon pipe guards for the X- Lites.

water racer have you ridden a Beta 250 yet? I'm looking to add a new bike soon and have been looking at the Sherco's but the Beta is getting my attention also. I'm glad when I see a bike guy open bike shop so good luck in your new business .

No I have not ridden one, going on a leap of faith. I had never ridden a Husqvarna before I bought one either, and that has worked out pretty well.
I am pretty good at reading between the lines of what people have to say, and it is all pointing positive that Beta will be a great bike and a good business opportunity.
I spent a lot of time reading this forum before I bought my WR125, and it has been every bit as good if not better than most were saying it was.
