I thought id try a Mikuni on my TE250 to compare with 36mm Keihin
Its actually a RB designs modified 39mm TMXX with divider plate - from my Italian Husky
Fairly predictably it definitely seemed to have more mid to top end power
and revved harder . Lost some of the choked up feeling
It did lose a bit of the torque and was bogging slightly
Funnily enough I got a nice plug read for first time - that was a lucky guess .
450 main with 35 pilot .
But it could also have been change in oil from Motul 800 to Maxima Castor oil
I tried slightly richer main and pilot settings and this helped a bit but the plug was slightly rich looking .
For my type of riding - more technical I think the 36mm carb is better suited so I will put that back on .
Ive always been a Mikuni fan but if I had a '17 husky Id be wondering what it would be like with a 36mm Keihin ( or a 36mm Lectron )
If I had an older TC 250 or Ktm 250 sx for MX Id be thinking Mikuni .
