  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

"Milky" coolant?

Blumpkin

Husqvarna
C Class
:excuseme: I am new to the forum, so forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere... On my 2009 TE510 with approx 600 miles, I was draining the cooling system to change over to a waterless coolant. When I pulled the hoses off of the water pump, I found what looks like oil/water mix residue in the hoses (white color). When i run it between my fingers it has a gritty feel to it. I don't know if this is left over from engine assembly, or if there is a problem with the engine. I drained the engine oil, and it looks fine-no water. The coolant recovery tank was mostly empty. I only remember it getting "hot" on one ride. So like I said, I'm just a bit concerned. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Usually if you have a leak in the water impeller it will leak in to the oil as the cooling system is under pressure, not the other way around. If it was leaking the oil would be greeny white colour.

Not sure what it is but I wouldnt be to concerned just check it for a while.

This happened on my 510 but it was quite a bit older. I just drained the fluid all the way until it ran clear. I chalked it up to old coolant as I let some out again a while later and it was fine.

Thanks, I was thinking of giving it a real good flush, and then just ride it for a bit and check it again. Sort of "If I don't see it, then it isn't a problem" I'll try to let you all know how it works out in a few weeks.
