  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

mode switch

Rusty Nuts

Husqvarna
B Class
just fitted dual mode switch to my 2010 310 ,just wondering if anyone has any comments on how much of a difference between the two mode and how the switch operates .

i have one on my 450......its ok i use mine only in s/t and when wet in s/t it tames the power .......to use it just wile riding hold the mode button for about 5sec and select 2 will come up on dash and you have less power takes a bit to get used to when i first got mine i thought it was shit but now i use it and when engine is stopped it goes back to normal

I have one on my 09 TE510. Still getting used to it but it does make a difference.
On the 2011 310 you will notice it doesn't rev out the same when you activate it.
The pre EFI switch was instant, I dont like the 3-5 second delay as I can only just reach it on my bar setup...

I have one on my 310 and really like it. It takes some snap off the bottom but still runs strong in the midrange. Also seems to have more lugging power. I'm an old guy and I use it when I get tired or on slippery roots and rocks, which we have a lot of in N.E.

thanks for the info , i havn't had a chance to try out yet hopefully i will notice some difference next time out in the bush .Plan to put bike on dyno next time i get service done.Hopefully this will give a good indication of the differences in the way it developes its power.

I have it bar mounted on my 310, thought it was a great idea. So far I keep forgetting to switch it on-oh well.

On my KTM200XC (which I sold and bought my 2010 310), the switch was instant like the pre switch, but I found I was activating it accidentally a lot. Not a big deal, but with this switch (which I have on mine) it is a deliberate action now so I like it a little better.

And I love my 310!
