• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

MOSS Tool in Escondido Calfornia

Neil San Diego

Husqvarna
AA Class
FYI, the dealer in Escondido (Moto Forza) still has the MOSS tool and they say that they will be keeping it. They are a KTM, Ducati, Benelli, and Husky dealer.

I just put a deposit down on their last Terra. Should pick it up in a couple weeks. They have two coming in, and both are sold as of yesterday. I made sure that they had the MOSS tool and that their service dept was familiar with the Terra before dropping the hammer.

I have never seen KTM at Moto Forza (my local dealer). Are they planning on becoming a dealer? Nobody has ever mentioned that to me.:excuseme:

Good to hear that the some CA shops still have the MOSS running. My selling dealership lost their software capabilities 3 days before I picked up my bike and said they couldn't do any updates to it. Now I need to find a dealership in MD, VA, PA, NC area that still has the tool working for our Huskies. If someboby can confirm a dealership that still has this working please PM me.

I'm visiting family in SoCal and took my Strada down to MotoForza today for a date with the MOSS tool. I bought the bike new from Gateway BMW in St. Louis and have put 5k miles on it.

The bike occasionally stumbled at low speeds and I had an occasional stall. Nothing serious. The Service Tech said the bike needed the latest mapping update, so the MOSS work was covered under warranty.

After this service, the bike seems to run smoother. And the weird thing is the air intake seems to be louder on acceleration. Just a strange byproduct of the service, I guess. After putting about 100 miles on the bike since the service, the bike runs great and so far no "stumbles."

In a word: Unknown.
You know, the funny thing is, the service Mgr. was just asking the Tech. about what version was installed, as I was leaving. The Tech forgot to write it down, and was going back to the machine to pull the history. The Service Mgr. needed it for the warranty submission. I'll call him and try to find out. UPDATE: The service mgr. did not know the version installed as the tech did not write it down and they could not find that info. out for me.
