As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

All manufactures have dealer agreements to prevent such a thing and I know most of them terminate the dealer who breaks this law. I like you and appreciate your work you do with riding this brand. I am just shocked that everyone thinks this is O.K. to do to the dealers, dealers who may not be there when you need something.
Your business model (I thought) was to offer aftermarket accessories to a brand that has had very few places to track it down. You have done a great job at it and I am all for sending people your way for this. If you have changed it and now a dealer you have a right to do that.
The problem I have is seeing this brand grow, it is going to take a good dealer network. The way I see it you are taking sales away from authorized dealers in order for them to grow. Don't you think it is the same thing for selling Husqvarna Hard Parts? I understand there are states that do not have dealers but this just does not sit well with me and kind of surprised I am the only one. This is nothing personal and I appreciate all you have done for the brand. I just think this is bad taste for Husqvarna to treat it's dealers this way. It really puts the brand in the same league as a pep boys. O.K. let the slamming of loyalists begin...
Protect Husky US and its dealers from WHAT? KTM? KAWASAKI? HONDA? YAMAHA? SUZUKI?... How in the planet of HELL can it "hurt" Husky US and/or ANY of its dealers to put more Huskys in the hands of enthusiatic riders ?????Norman Foley;91795 said:I guess I have to join the "A" for @$$hole team here.....
While I know Kelly's devotion to the brand and appreciate what he has done and will do for Husky. The idea of selling a "tweaked" bike, ready to go is a good one.
Unfortunately it appears that he and his dealer have stepped inadvertentley over a line. That line is... The Husky Dealer Agreement which exists to protect Husky US and its dealers. I've never seen it, but I'm pretty sure it has a clause about... "Dealers cannot broker bikes through second parties." This situation can be over come by the authorized dealer involved, selling the bikes as a "Motosportz Special Editions" through the dealership, as oppossed to Kelly and Motosportz selling them directly.
You can laugh at laws, but no one can take them lightly.....

I guess we will just agree to disagree, but I think I suggested a reasonable solution. I suggest you talk to the Husky Dealers you have bought bikes from and see how they feel about it.
I want to see Husky, Husky Dealers and Motosportz succeed, so I hope this is resolved.

He has single-handedly brought a lot of riders into the fold. An impromptu poll of the 125 riders here would bear that out, I think. Dan at MotoXotica would not have sold me a 125 if Kelly had given up on the bike when it absolutely would not run when purchased new.
Agreeing to disagree is not a bad thing, Norman![]()
I, too, want to see Husky do well, and in turn all those that make their living via Husky. This post defines the word "moderate"... in a good and bad way.
