• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

fletchman - sorry your call didn't go the way you wanted it to go, but I can't believe the call taker thought you were being serious explaining your recent surgery to get a discount. My guess is she thought you were being funny or maybe there is more to it, two sides to every story.
I am sure my post isn't going to change your opinion, but I have ordered parts and bought a bike from Motoxotic and have never had a negative experience. I have found they go out of their way to get you the part as soon as they can at a decent price. Motoxotica is a small shop and without internet sales my guess is they would not be around for the long haul so I can't see them seriously trying to lose potential sales. I have always been given fair prices and honest answers when I have called. I was even once told I didn't need to buy anything to fix a particular issue, how many places would do that? If you only shop looking for a discount most of these small shops will be gone eventually. JMO

wow sounds like they have been great to you!! Understand what you are saying about the small shop and discount thing, but what do I know. in the past, a long time ago (2004 I won vet expert and was pretty active in racing, then had a bad shoulder injury ending my riding for some time, along with building 2 new houses for my family etc..) they had given me a discount, so there was nothing intended to create a problem when I asked about a discount. Remember always 2 sides 2 a coin. Thanks
