  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

my 511 is here****************************************!

Glad you're finally going to get it, Kelly! I'm looking forward to your 511 ride reports.

good look with servicing schedule as there is no hour meter on it wich i think is crazy

Your really obsessed with the hour meter huh? The ECU keeps that info and there piles of check hours meters if you want to add one. Few bikes come stock with one. I'm not concerned a bit about it.

bit annoyed that a company as big as husky/bmw have fiited a clock with a hour meter that isnt connected i service all my bikes by hours, and nearly all the enduro bikes have hour meter ktm bmw ect and to give service schedule by the hour and not have a hour meter is mad you shouldnt have to spend 7k on a bike and then add a hour meter not much i can do about it now and what good is it in the ecu if only a dealer can access it.just my little rant guys this is why a i wouldnt normally bike a bike straight out of production i would normally wait for any problems like these to be ironed out and buy maybe after 12mths.thats me done

If you service all your bikes, you should have the box to read the ECU.

-32 degrees? Congratulations on the new bike and you, for 1, have a legitimate reason not to ride it just yet ....

i had a 510 and raced it for 3yrs, there wasn't a bog or hill in England that could stop it. i'm a little confused tho as i now have the 2011 310 and that comes with the hour meter in the main clocks on the bars, all works fine. you just go through the displays untill it pops up!!! had the same thing on my old 510.Have the new 511 not got this??????
