• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

My Husky TLC session

Great service report Robert. Very thorough and detailed. I would not hesitate to buy a used bike form you because I know that even though it has been ridden hard it was well cared for.

If you had been holding your mouth like this when you were reinstalling the tank, it would have gone on. You just weren't holding your mouth right.:banghead:

:excuseme:

I did hold my mouth like that while I whacked the tank fairly hard with a snap-on dead blow mallet (read a real heavy one),,,no-go

I know this question wasnt directed to me but I thought I would give my $.02. I recently replaced my fork seals and the dealer didnt have the OEM stuff so he recommended all balls. They were alot cheaper but man did they go in hard. I had a seal driver that I made at work but I still couldnt get them to seat (tool wasnt heavy enough). Finally I took it to a local shop and they had a pretty rough time as well. If I was going to do it all over I would go with OEM.

I've heard a few horror stories about aftermarket seals for the front end already so I'd probably lean towards OEM too. Thanks for the heads-up mate.

I have been having alot of problems at work with rubber and plastic items changing shape due to fuel exposure as well. It didnt start happening until the e-10 fuel was introduced though. My remedy is to let is sit out in the open air for a while or stick it in the freezer or water. That usually works for me. Good luck.

Thanks for suggestions its just sitting and waiting for some tank tlc,,,I will get to it or send up to IMS for a re-jig
