• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

But my favorite proximity perk is the fact that Ohlins USA is 15 minutes from my door.

I would think your favorite proximity perk would be that you can step outside your door and you’re in supermoto haven (and dirtbike and cruiser for that matter…)
It’s a completely different story on the other end…might as well sell the 610 and buy a Zuma or a Ruckus :(:cry:

You'll just have to come visit.

Goose,

Got a question for you. How much was your Ohlins front and rear? That is one sexy setup.

Wish I had a quick and easy answer for ya but I don't. The forks were custom made by Ohlins for a CRF450 customer that had bailed, and it was a small miracle they just barely fit in the Husky triples, because Euro and Asian stuff hardly ever match up. The shock was custom made for me in their lab from various other parts; BMW, 4wheeler, snowmoblie, etc. after reverse engineering the OEM one and then building it from scatch. All the suspension was then valved and set-up for my weight and riding style. And all this was done on a trade, I live near their USA facility and do some cabinet work for them from time to time. So in a nut shell, they don't make anything specific for the 610 and I just got lucky having friends in the right place. :D

hey. i need that aluminum piece! the frame that the rack and the blinkers mount to. any chance you still have it?

I suggest making one out of something thicker, it's a pretty simple project. I paid a place $50 which was a rip-off, but still cheaper than Husky wanted...

My stock rear blinkers lasted two rides.

I'm not sure what LA law is about spacing but I put mine as far apart as I could without risking certain destruction. The flex in the rear mud flat should prevent mine from breaking, I hope. If this design is not crash friendly, I'll extend the aluminum out past the blinkers and make the connection to the mud flap more flexible.

I used 1/8" aluminum flap bar to protect the LED turn signals (Cycle Gear) from exhaust heat and impact. I spent about $35 on the LED's but the aluminum was free. You can find aluminum plate at most hardware stores.
