• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

My MX track as the build progresses

well ive decided to build a track in our field so here are some pics as it gets goin

nothing huge but its a start... we have something more than flat grou to play on now!!

a shot from the other side...

we usually have beans and corn rotated, its a lil sandy but does ok with the crops. we sold most of the property this year (one of those things) the area where the track is goin to be is whats left. im thinkin of possibly putting christmas trees in the free space for some extra income and planting some things to attract deer, doves and other wildlife for hunting season.

Sounds good except for the sale(?) ... The south where I'm from dried up long ago as per farming ... 80s probably, .. It was really sad to see all that happen way back then, but ...u know .. lol.. life goes on and always for the better, right?

I'd keep the track safe ... with most of the obstacles as a PRO track, just smaller in size ...
Maybe start out with 5-6 whoops and leave room for more and then add more later ..

I was wanting to build one here but there are so many tracks here , I might just build a house and live close to one I like ...

got to keep on keepin on!! lol ya im plannin on keeping it fun and flowing for the most part no supercross here yet hahaha and hell ya why bust your ass building one just find one thats killer and move near there if thats an option.

I'm a simple, CARBED type guy .... But I do know you gotta have whoops ... Even the PROs have issues there ... Watch the reviews of the sx PROs after a race ... CR made about 5 comments about them after the SLC race ... All even out there but the whoops section :O) .... Build'em like you want and you'll own the section and the racing ...

haha whoops will get ya, not sure how i want them alot of sandy stuff available so maybe some bigger sandduney type whoops

ya, i was thinkin itd be alright since it wasnt too huge but ya it needs a landing. first time over and i about lawn darted like stewart last weeked.....its a work in progress. we get our dump truck back in a day or two and im goin to start back up with the track. probably turn that into a table top, i dunno.

took a lil off the top and stretched the take off out some and made it more gradual, also managed to get a couple of the flatter style whoops put in before the rain got here...

Looks like really good soil for an "Epic!" track

one thing about it theres virtually no rocks in it whatsoever, i would have dirt hauled in but dotn want a bunch of crap in it and i dont want to pay for it so alot of skimming here and there.....possibly a pond or bowl or something too

You can go on line and find the layouts of most tracks used to day for some ideas ... The Daytona SX courses might have some good ideas ...

friday evening showin a lil progress now, the whoops are at the very top with a couple jumps as you come down the straight. thers one jump about half the size of the ones shown and a much smaller "bump" along with a sandbox corner you cant see in the pic. ill be getting a gopro sooner or later to show more of it off as it grows
