• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Need 500XC Silencer/SA, stock best, or look for another????

OK, thanks. Yeah, I'm trolling ebay for stuff pretty frequently. Only guy with potentially the exact silencer I need on there right now, is that fellow I'm not going to dare get into any dealing with. Lots of folks selling Husky parts though, so I'll keep my eyes opened, and hope I spot one from another, decent seller.

OK, got the stock pipe, and she looks good, but I will be learning that dent removal technique. Actually found a great youtube clip showing it in use. Looks simple and really quite quick too.

Have this on the way to toss at the project. Needs refinish work like every other part. Other than gaskets, it's about work time.

Yeah, I was likeing that as well. Though who knows what shape the rubber is in till I see it in person. Could be a split running the length, just on the other side lol. But I did like seeing that also. On the flip side is, this is a single mounting tab only correct for an 85 model, and possibly the same for 86, but missing the front tab that was added in 87 forsure. Guess it won't be visible anyways.

My one bike project may quickly turn into two, since I have so many parts to build an 87 500XC in addition to the titled 85 roller I have. Starting to seriously second guess the idea of upfitting the 85 with 87 plastics, when I'm so close to just having enough parts to build the later model bike.
