  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Need a huge tank for your 449 / 511?

Not that huge lol! I have been asked by so many people if anyone was going to make a desert tank for the new 449/511s, but I doubt anyone would install that. How many gallons does that beast hold?

The 511 just might have to replace my old 510 now that I might be able to ride it more than 60 miles... between pit stops.. Who makes that liquid silver additon? Can you purchase it for only one side?

A couple of extra gallons at 15lbs might allow 250 mile day rides with one refil.

Whoa. Still hard getting used to seeing the fillers at the rear. How does the tailpipe sit amongst that?

I just want that "KX" papertowel dispenser for my kids 65.... he spills lots of icecream in the garage when he is helping me....

Folks are making fun of it now, but I bet either that system or a variant of it is what the aftermarket will come up with in some sort of size. I KNOW there will be a lot of threads about fuel tank size coming when these bikes start are fielded in larger numbers to us regular joes. Clark, IMS, Acerbis, Safari? Somebody is going to make something eventually, right?

I expect it will be Safari as they did one for the BMW 450X before they did the regular FI Husqvarnas ...

I've been waiting for a bit more detail.. so I will just ask. That is aluminum one off design, correct?

I suspect this bike is going to compete in Dakar or maybe the Baja 1000? Creative ideal! Using this type of tank here in the Southern NV or Ca desert it would make the bike much heavier and harder to sling your leg over to get on or off the bike?
