    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Need more "clip nuts"

The parts manual for the TR states the metal clips that hold fairings and such to the bike are called "clip nuts" part #7651465.

Husqvarnas aren't very common, so searching for the part number results in nothing. I searched for a BMW clip nut, hoping it would be the same part recycled to our bikes like because, well, BMW/Husky/KTM mashup crew took four months to deliver my new fender, and now I need replacement clips that I've misplaced and was hoping to get them in quick order.

The "clip-nuts" used on the TR's are bog-standard, generic M5 speed clips, used everywhere in the automotive/ electrical industry.
Ebay for the term " M5 speed clips" and they're everywhere. Also available in small blisterpacks at most auto-stores.

Well, I have discovered that they aren't "bog-standard" as I've ordered several different types and none fit into a single fairing clip mount on the bike. These speed clips are M5 speed clips, but they are much smaller and differently shaped than all of the ones I've ordered thus far. These clips are designed to slide into a slot that is made to retain them. They can't a different dimension or they wont fit. The threading is just one factor here, it seems.

I've wasted 30 dollars and a couple weeks of my time waiting on the wrong parts to come in. I should have just gone to the dealer to see if they could charge me their ridiculous price for them. :\

Yes, some are wider, deeper etc....but it doesn't take much to narrow them down to fit "the slot". A grinding stone/ grinding belt/ Dremel etc. and it's a few seconds to make it fit.
Did it the other week as I was missing 2 of the original clips, took 2 old ones that had "accumulated" their way into the "bits-bin", shaved about 1.3mm off each side of each of the clips, slightly re-bent the "top" with the hole to reduce depth a little and that was it.
Then found the 2 missing originals 10 mins later...
