• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Not finding a lot on line which is weird. No real trail maps and details. Some general stuff. Anyone got a good map for the area? Also recommendations?

I have ridden...

Poison spider
Slick rock
Cliff hanger
Fins and things
Moab rim

and a few other i forget the name of near Moab. Looking for something new. Will do Poison and Cliff hanger again but want to hit something new too.

thanks
Kelly

You need to get the Latitude 40 maps. They make 2 of them for Moab, I believe they split into north and south, get them both and you'll be covered. The Soverign Trail stuff is not on the maps, or it wasn't anyway, but put it on top of your to do list, it's the best trail in the Moab area. Brad.

ditto on the sovereign trail just north of town. Another one is porcupine rim all the way to the end through the single track, if you like hanging off the side of a cliff. pritchett canyon, kane creek were good too. Saw a tree on kane creek, harder than the rock.

I haven't done it on two wheels, but Kane Creek is fun on 4 wheels! You can get to it by taking the road that turns off main st. by McDonald's.

Google earth is amazing, I looked all up and down that trail too. Lots of stuff... note enough days.

Damn, I want daily reports and video. I am Jonesing to go there in the worst way but my year has started and I am screwed except for local riding until next October. I was looking and they don't have any plots for 5 miles of hell or the San Rafael Swell. Also Sovereign trail isn't there and it really is fun and about the only single track there.

Walt - I'm pretty sure Latitude 40 does a map of the Swell. P.S. - I'll be in Moab the weekend of the 20th if you can play hookey for a couple days. Brad.

Kelly, you forgot to mention who was breaking trail yesterday, and running circles around you girlies....

When are you gonna be in UT? There is a ton of excellent riding here. Sovereign is super fun and I definitely recommend it. Golden spike is one of my faces out there too. The aforementioned single track at the end of poison spider was closed to motors. Always the way... But hit me up and I'd be happy to show you some of the super duper goods.

Your getting a lot of mileage out of that new tire already. Next time we do a 2 foot deep snow ride I'll not bring a tire with 800 miles on it... I'll mount up my sand paddle. Or better yet I'll not let you talk me into riding 2 feet of snow.
