• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Ok Ladies & Gents,

It's freaking time**************************************** I stayed up super late last night, and got up early today and spent all day getting my shit in order for this trip! What a way to break in the wb165 kit!! From the sounds of it, we are gonna have about a 17hr drive tommorow, but Scott swears he wants to tackle all of the driving.... We are meeting at Kelly's at 5am, and hooking up the trailer, and off we go.... I'm hoping on the 17 hour drive home, Scott still wants to drive  It will give me time to start editing some vids to post when we get back!

Make sure you get Kelly to throw in a 14 T CS sprocket for you to bolt on once you get there. You will want some cruising speed at times. 14x52 aught to be just about right.

1. Have fun
2. Be safe
3. Invite me next time you dirty bastages****************************************!!

Believe it or not, I ran a 12/52 the whole time... The bike was geared low, but that riding is extremely technical... When I rode the 165 with the gnarly pipe, I could see how that could easily pull a 14/52... I think 13/52 would of been perfect for me out there, but I was to lazy to change it (even though I had it all with me). Plus, my bike was running real fat out there as well. It might of pulled the 14/52 had it been jetted correctly. I told myself EACH DAY, I was gonna mess with it at night, but when I got back, the last thing I wanted to do was unload my bike outta the trailer, and fiddle with it. I just wanted a shower, dinner, beer, and bed...

Moab does start at 4500' and moves up. It is perfect for my jetting but coming from sea level it would be fat. I hope you had as much fun as it sounds. Moab is so cool.

I am officially throwing down the guantlet to have our fall Husky gathering there. It is a long drive for everyone, probably about the same mileage from St. Louis as it is from Portland or San Fransisco. But the riding is epic and weather there in late October to early November is killer. 60-70 degrees and no competition for trail space. Tons of area and every type of riding for every type of bike. All pretty centrally located with most staging areas only about 30 minutes max from any other.

 I'm being modest when I say I had a freaking blast!!! Riding was spectacular, but it was truley the group of guys that helped make this trip one-of-a-kind... We were all on the same page on everything important: Ride till you can't walk right, know your going to be the butt of at least 25% of the jokes, and embrace it!!!
