• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

First bike in 26 yrs..(I'm 54) , I owned an 81', 82', and an 83' Honda XL500-600...was watching Husky's for the last year and finally found a 630 with 1300 miles and grabbed it...I have been messing with it for the past 2 months..home made power up kit, found wings cans in the for sale section here on the "cafe", and installed a KTM fairing...trimmed up the exhaust shield and painted it black...took it for my first ride this weekend (35deg. windy,open face helmet and sunglasses...very cold) and it was great...The crazy thing was I ran into a member of this board (Brian) on his 610...and he gave me the low down on a group of smoto'ers that often get together to do some cruising...Here are a couple of shots

Wow that lloks great for vinyl. Did you do it or pay to have it done? Is that a 610? Ive been thinking about trying my 630 but there are some pretty complex ridges on the front and rear fenders and I dont know if vinyl can do it.
 
Bought the wrap online. Did the wrap myself.

Not that hard. Just don't stretch it to much. A hair dryer helps with harder bends and folds. Just think Saran Wrap with adhesive on the back.

Wash your plastics good. I started with my fork guards to get a feel for it. Figured they were small enough it wouldn't waste to much if I had to redo them. In total it took me about 3 hours start to finish.

And yes that is a 2006 sm610.

Thanks, I may just have to give it a whirl and do like you said. The other thing is if I wrap it like I want im going to have to paint the insides of all the plastics as they are white as of now. I was looking at hydrographic printing but cant find anyone to do my parts. All of them just want to stick to doing coatings on firearms.
